  • I don't think it's a matter of bearing to part with it, but needing to part with it.

Totally agree F_F, as I posted on your other thread littlemissstars ~
    * You state on your diary you have nothing to sell yet to me it looks like you spend a hell of a lot on clothes and mac. Can you not sell what is second hand/new on ebay. Ok its not nice selling things that you brought/want, I know I sold my laptop a gift for completing some of my college course to get debt free. However what would you rather have a better quality of life (ie going on holiday/to gigs) or sitting in your room surrounded by 'stuff'. If you have purchased things from topshop they sell for a high price on ebay even second hand.

To be honest i dont want to sound horrible but until you have a 'proper' LBM, theres only so much people can help.
You have been given lots of good advice but you continue spending. I have been there myself, said i wanted help but didnt stop spending and it got worse. When i had my LBM thats when everything changed.
You need to really want to change - at the moment you have a lot of excuses. Cut up your store cards - you dont need them! Sell your bags, clothes etc...

People here really do want to help you, but you need to want to get rid of the debt. You can do it now before it gets any worse.

    Good luck

  • ok, i have drafted a letter for the bank, how does this sound?

Since receiving your letter dated the 9th of October, I would like to state that I can only afford to pay £10 a month towards the account.
I am a full time student, and will not finish my university course until June 2011

If interest or other charges are being added to the account I would be grateful if you would freeze these so that all payments made will reduce what I owe you.
Should my circumstances improve I will contact you again.

I would be grateful if you would send a paying-in book to make it easier to pay you.

I would also like to take this time to say that I want all future contact with me to be made through letters, as i live in shared accommodation, and do not wish other people to know my personal busisness.

Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.

Im not sure what you need to include in the letter to be honest, but you HAVE to stick to the repayment plan you make with them.
You really need to make some changes in order to get this debt under control.

I have followed your thread from day one and have tried to offer you advice, particularly over the last few days but you seem to ignore my posts. I really think until you have your LBM theres not much else we can say to help you.

    I wish you luck.

ETA: reading back i realise that might sound harsh, just remember that when your ready people here really do want to help you and give you advice. We are all just speaking from past experience and dont want you to go through what we have been through!

I'm gonna assume that you're having a bit of a blip - because you're not posting on your thread, but I keep seeing your posts on shopping threads on the Grabbit board! :p

Don't give up... keep posting on this thread and get back on track :)
