It should be a screen like this when you run it ~

    RegCleaner_1.png

You simply scan down the SOFTWARE list and remove the entries AVG and GRISOFT

Uninstall every anti virus on your computer (avira if its on ~ im getting lost)

    Install AVG 8

    Reboot

Uninstall AVG 8 then use the removal tool

    Run ccleaner again

    reboot

Download GLARY UTILITIES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD NOW' ~ UNTICK the ASK toolbar on installation)
    http://www.download.com/Glary-Utilities/3000-2094_4-10508531.html
    Run the ONE CLICK scan

    reboot and attempt Kaspersky installation

!!!!!!, I INSTALLED a reg cleaner from google and you said i should install the right one- the one that you had put a link to..
so i uninstalled that and clicked on the link you provided and it brought me to registry mechanic. I appreciate your help but i dont think i am a muppet here.. have done my best and you seen it yourself that many way have proved unsucessfull on removing it.
