IIRC under 18s cannot enter into a contract EXCEPT for essentials of life - it's arguable that a mobile phone is an essential these days, though I'd disagree personally.
And there's also the implied contract argument - that by continuing to use the service and paying earlier bills at the age of 18 she has agreed to the T&C by default.0 -
If someone isn't sensible enough to assess their call rates and want protection they should be on PAYG. Simple. Load it up and once it's gone it's gone.
I thought it would be £200 isn't good enough. You can't go through life guessing what things cost. 18 is not that young to not realise that.
Orange make it easy to check call rate costs. I do it for every country I go to just before I leave with a quick and easy text and they text me right back wih all I need to know.
I disagree with the OP that any of the blame lies with Orange. She is old enough to know better.0 -
