I'm on a MacBook Refurb & TBH you wouldnt know (apart from the price) the only thing that is different is the packaging, mine came in a brown box & not the glossy retail box....thats it really.
Worth looking at

Worth looking at indeed. I understand why people want the shiny brand new stuff, I certainly do, but the refurbs are very good, just as well supported and all as the "normal" product, I've not heard bad reports about refurbs from anyone.
They do sometimes sell older models as well as newer ones but they are listed as separate items and as long as you know what it is you want it will be clear which one you are getting, if you see what I mean.If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -

Know any students? They can get quite a large discount, which on a top of the range iMac would amount to a few hundred pounds. The Apple Refurb Store also have quite large discounts, and everything is as new and fully guaranteed.
How does this work? Can`t see anything on the website. Wjat sort of saving can be made?0 -
They have an Apple Store for Education on their website. You can also pop into your local Apple Store if you have one nearby.
The savings are pretty big; a friend of mine got a £719 MacBook for £540.0 -

Thanks, found it now. The only access is to the `schools` section which offers a small saving (£109 on the top of the range 24in imac). Are the savings larger for the college and university areas?0 -

The discount is a percentage, but I can't recall what it is.
You can purchase in an Apple Store or over the phone; you don't have to go through the university/college.0
