Be careful of scammers, who offer to deliver the dog to you, but otherwise good luck:j :j :j :j

I'm surprised someone with allergies would not go for a smooth coated dog, I would have thought the long haired much worse:confused:

Any way I have heard that poodle don't moult are so are good for people with allergies.

As are Chinese Creasted Dogs:D http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_Crested_Dog

    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    You would think that..

I am very very allergic to cats, sadly. Labs make me itch, its the smooth ones that I am worse with. It does vary.

I actually had an Old English Sheepdog (I've had two actually) and fine with them. Also fine when had Airedales. And poodles - well they are known to be fine for people with allergies. Which why originally they bred them with Labs - to try and breed guide dogs for the blind for people with allergies - at least that is what I read somewhere once, but you never really know how curly they will turn out and the idea didn't work, allegedly.

I'll pass this time re your suggestion, no offence to the little chaps.

    We will!

Going to have a nose at the boarding kennel/breeding place tomorrow morning - see if they have anything I would love....

If I have heard nothing by Monday morning, I will ring this customer at work who I think could be a miniature poodle breeder.... probably not the same person, but I am pretty sure they breed dogs and the surname is the same.
Lovely people, so I know they won't mind me calling them.

Guess folk don't go online as often as I do! Mind you, its only evenings Mon to Fri - and then weekends.......... :D

Could be less soon if I am out walking 'Jim' or 'Marge'...................

And Josie - a very spoilt Old English. She had one blue eye and one brown one - God was kind and put the blue on the white side!

I miss my dogs soooooo much.

I've just had a call from Little Dog Rescue. A little Yorkie, 9 years old with epilepsy. I had to say no, due to my circumstances, and not being able to look after her in the way that she deserves.

Left me with an awful taste in my mouth....

Why can't I have enough money to retire and look after these loves??

Anyone out there that can care for Lucy? She is on their website.

  • Aw, Lucy is sweet, but don't feel bad, the right person will be out there for her somewhere, and there are so many dogs out these who really need homes, I am sure you will be able to help one of them! Hang in there, you have been waiting three years, the right dog will come along!!

(I know how it is not to have a dog when you really long for one though!)

Oh Lord - Is that Lucy??? I didn't dare look.

    She is really really cute.

But I know, deep down, that I can't give her what she deserves. But she is so cute.... !!!!!!..

I've seen Rusty and read about him on poodles in need.

He is in the same county as me - but would seem that he is a bit of a challenge at the moment! Not sure he would be ideal for me to take to work. He may settle down. I phoned Hanna and she didn't suggest him for me, which I am sure she would if he was suitable.

He looks real cute. But then they all do. Its a bit heart breaking all of this - but as you said, we will get there! Although I am beginning to wonder...

I've still got a place to check out tomorrow and a call to make on Monday. If I get zilch from those, then I am snookered. Cos I am then at a dead end...

Is it me, or was my last paragraph full of bad cliches?

    Jeannie

PS I'm off to bed now, cos I need to snuggle up with a cuppa and a book...
Again, thanks so much for your help Hethmar.
