Hi all :hello:
A very lazy day chez Morwenna today. I had some vouchers for my birthday so I went to Waterstones for books. I got "How to feed your whole family a healthy, balanced diet with very little money and hardly any time, even if you have a tiny kitchen, only three saucepans (one with an ill fitting lid) and no fancy gadgets unless you count the garlic crusher..." by Gill Holcombe. I love this book! (Although it was the snappy, succint title that made me buy it,) The Chicken Nugget recipe alone is worth the price of the book - Nuggets that contain carrots and apples - genius! Somehow, when I got to the till I found I also had "Cherry Cake And Ginger Beer" by Jane Brocket in my hand too.. not entirely sure how THAT happened...
Tea tonight is good old bangers & mash, not sure if I'll do swede and carrot mash or green beans and carrot batons alongside yet though. I always cook sausages in the oven as I can't fry them properly - not enough patience to stand at the stove I suspect, so I will throw a batch of cupcakes in the oven too I think.
Hugs for all, have lovely Saturdays everyone
EDIT: "Cherry Cake And Ginger Beer" has a recipe for Paddington Bear's Marmalade Buns - and I have oranges to be used up so I think I will make these instead of cupcakes0 -

Very frustrating day. We were ready for the transport to the hospital, waited and waited....eventually turned up at 1.35pm 5 minutes after OH's appointment time....on his list it said 2pm, so we were late before we started.
Could not find the damn clinic......so signs, went halfway round the hospital and back to where we started from!!!
By 3pm OH had been seen and discharged.....we have spent 2 years trailing to this blasted clinic for nothing, there is nothing wrong with OH's eyes......we then had to sit and wait for transport home........3.45 when someone finally arrived..........they had a wheel chair for OH which I made him have.....when we got outside could not believe the racket that was going on outside, 6 policemen and a couple of security guards, plus ambulance men trying to get a 'woman' in a chair, the language would have made a stone blush, people stadning round gawping......they could not get OH through to the transport.........right mess......eventually we made it to the vehicle and were transported home........so almost the whole day wasted on something for which he could have been discharged last year and to top it off they have lost his notes!!!
I just hope that the appointment on Friday goes a bit better..........I hate hanging around, but I refuse to pay £1 an hour to park a car, when its obvious that the millions they are making from car parking is not being ploughed back into the car parks. The one at LRI is pathetic, there are often 2 hour queues to get in.
Its been a nice sunny day, but cold..... the wind is quite strong....a good day to have washing out!!!Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

I`ve spent most of the day in the garden and boy is my back sore.
In the greenhouse i now have golden chard, beetroot chillies, bell peppers, peas and broad beans. I`ve sown some more chillies and pointy peppers and brought them into the house on the windowsill along with amaranth, 2 different types of tomatoes and courgettes. I know it`s a bit early for some of these but most are last years seeds and i thought if they don`t grow then i`ll just sow some more.
I`ve done more digging and weeding but haven`t moved the shrubs yet as i kinda changed my mind about where i was moving them to, i need to have a good think about where they will end up.
EEk i`ve just seen the time, Mr Sunny will be home in half an hour and we are taking Dad on the supermarket run, i`d best hop in the shower.
Catch up later peeps.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -

How about a tuna pasta bake, nice and easy and quick xx
Just got back from our walk, noahsmum, it was lovely you should try it, we sat in a woodland and ate our houmous and ham sandwiches and a coffee, while watching 3 red kites looking for prey, they really are the most beautiful birds. We walked 5.5 miles today, so will not need to go on the wii fit, will give it a rest today.
Hester, thought you might find this interesting, we walked past a pub where in 1915 the inaugural meeting of the WI was held, it was The Fox Inn, in East Dean.
Oh has offered to cook tonight, so a nice relaxing evening for me, going to have a big glass of wine later
Have fun all x

((((HUGS)))) to everyone, sorry I haven't mentioned everyone by namebut i do think of you all!
My DH has been busy in the living room; we bought a couple of bookcases at Ikea the other day, so he's been putting them together and looking at what can be chucked or recycled before putting them in place and moving the CDs and DVDs into them. We had a big (and hideous) footstool/pouffe with storage space inside, and most of the stuff in there was very out of date (mostly old maps and guides from past holidays), and if we get rid of the pouffe it'll clear space in a crowded corner :T And he's put the loose cookbooks I had knocking around into the bottom shelf so they have a proper home at last!
Lunch today was an omelette for me and a peanut butter sandwich for DH!
Tonight's dinner will be chicken stirfry with black bean sauce. We bought the wok from Ikea a few years ago on the spur of the moment; it was only £15 and I use it loads, for things like curries and pasta sauces as well as stirfries, so it was certainly money well spent! If anything happened to it I'd definitely have to rush out and get another one!0
