He can only put fees on the account which you are paying. he cannot charge you fees on one account for the business on the other account.

He will hit you for two lots of visit fees though, but only one lot on each account.

Here is Herbie's advice to another poster

The most important thing to remember is that you should not allow a bailiff yo come into your home as you will have serious problems if you do.

As things stand now, the bailiff has visited you twice and for this he can charge you just £24.50 and £18.00. That is it !!

He CANNOT charge any further fees UNLESS he either levies on your car outside of your home or you allow him into the house.

Sorry to gatecrash the thread, but do you write to the council or the bailiff company to ask about charges you believe to be excessive?

right I've found the breakdown for the current reference (£700 odd). he posted it through my door with a blank inventory. in august 08. he's charged me for the 2 visits

I dont recall receiving this for the reference he's visiting me for on friday! i just paid the firm via interent banking with the reference.

Honeybee, write to the bailiff company and Cc in the head of Revenues at the Council. I recommend adding your local councilor as well.

The blank inventory has no legal status. Unless you sign it, it is not valid.

If he adds any more charges to this, then he is in trouble.

And he is making unfair charges on the other account. have you paid the whole amount?
