    Hey Glorious Lula!

Just stumbled across your thread and thought I would pop in and say hi!

You sound very bright and positive and its great to hear things this way from you!

RE food: I have made a decision as part of my 100 day challenge to not buy chocolate or crisps (allowed when on holiday). I've also decided to not buy any more ready meals and to home bake any treats eg hobnobs :D (I know how much you luuuuuurrvve these!) and cakes. I'm on a baking mission today and tomorrow for treats to take on holiday instead of buying rubbish when I get there :D

I'm still on the £100 clothes challenge and I need to update my totals with my bargains from ebay which I wouldn't have done without the ideas from that thread. I used to dye my clothes when I was a teenager then I lost these ideas when I got older and reading about this on the thread made me smile about the memories of dying my jeans purple in the late ravie 80's. Might try dying clothes again now I have remembered about it!

Not much debt busting for me at the mo until my loan is paid off in May then can start again. So very skint but more thrifty and frugalish at the moment. I would never have made all this food to take away before and we would have gone out for a meal and spent loads on not that good stuff.

Onwards and upwards for you and for me and for all of us!

Take care Lula and see you later on the £100 challenge!

Morning all & welcome to fedupandskint

( thanks for the reminder to update all the clothes challengers ) I've actually had to ban myself form making hobnobs as I am actually physically incapable of only eating one - or 2, 3 or 4 a day :o.

Had a great day in the garden yesterday thanks to the vouchers I got a new rosemary bush, lavender plant ( for the bees :D) & also a mauvey pink delphinium, dark pinky red penstemon & a purple salvia so a good mix of tallish & bushyish so I think I've done my mum proud ;)The whole lot for £12 :). I now also have 6 hollyhocks growing on the windowsill, cant wait to get them in the garden but they're still a bit small.

Going to spend the day out there again as I still have lots of big stuff to move around & I need to somehow rescue the pile of split bamboo & attempt to return it into a screen with the help of some glue & bits of wood.

Should be a NSD today but I've just counted up & unless I dont spend anything until next friday :eek:I'm not going to achieve my monthly target, stupid silly spending demon that got the better of me

Thanks for the offer of keyboard Numpty, this one is quite newish & was a freebie from my sis as my old one was getting very hard to type on as all the letters had worn off . Now that the mighty Z has located the backslash for me I should be ok but you're very kind :kisses3: I'd love a laptop or netbook thing so might try sneakily saving up for one of those :shhh:

Right, must take the fruitbat to school now so will hopefully pop back later

    bye for now

Hurrah, it's been a NSD for me :j

I called the fuel company & the meters are due to be changed on monday. DD is hopping with excitement as she has to walk to school on her own so that I dont miss the appointments. As we all know if I stay in they wont arrive until the final 5 minutes of the 5 hours time slot ... but if I attempt to walk DD to school at the top of the road, they will arrive & depart within that 2 minutes

Dear father called to reschedule the lunch we were meant to have weeks ago ... he's going away for a week so I offered to care for his hedgetrimmer in his absence ;). I spent 2 hours digging up the old spiraea bush that I cut down, had to dig a foot wide trench all around it then jump up & down on the spade to lever the thing out. The root ball is about 18inches across  & very vicious, got asked if I'd had a fight with a cat as my arms so torn up :(

Had my free lunch at the pub - yummy jacket potato with prawns then dashed home to have a quick whizz round with the new vacuum before taking DD to swimming. It sure is easier than the carpet sweeper & dustpan & brush, must remember not to try to suck up pink tack with it though :o.

I've started wearing my contact lenses again after a few months break & it seems that my eye has healed from whatever was irritating it, sadly it appears that I have developed loads of wrinkles in that time that werent visible when wearing the man-deterring specs  I may revert to wearing them again, particularly as they do a great job of protecting my eyes from fast flying dirt & vicious brambles.

No plans for the weekend other than a lovely lie in tomorrow :D usual washing, dropping DD off at friends for a couple of hours & a walk to local blubell woods. I may have blagged a free lunch on sunday too ;).

Oooh, completely forgot yesterday to say that in my change form the garden centre visit were another 2 £2 coins so I'm now up to £ 88 :) well on target for the tax disc now

Hoping for another NSD tomorrow, will update when there is more riveting news :rotfl:

Lula - get yourself some eye cream and dab it around your eye socket area, that will help get rid of wrinkles. I wear glasses and have never had a problem getting a man - they love the studious look apparently:rotfl:

I thought about you yesterday (not in a lezzie way as Wol would put it:eek:), I received a preview of a new Jaqui Lawson e-card - pity its a Birthday card really as it is very apt for you at the moment. Hell, I might just send it anyway as a Happy Birthday for your new garden:D

Enjoy your walk and the free lunch:D

A happy & sunnyish afternoon here,

I had my lie in & indulged in coffee & book in bed too :D.

Put the washing machine on & was then shamed into a corner of the hall - due to minimal attire - by the window cleaner who after 6 months of absence decided to turn up & resume cleaning  I will forgive him though as he only charged me £6 rather than £7 last time. I think I can afford £6 every 6 months ;). However, this has blown my NSD .

Aaaaagggh I've now just remembered that I forgot to give DD some money to go swimming with her friend this afternoon :o will now have to give to the parent instead which is rather embarassing as she did ring me to say they were going swimming.

I had a really good walk to nearby wood & there were bluebells just everwhere, looked really magical, managed to get tree sap all over my behind which looked like I'd been taking those new diet pills :o so jeans now in the wash again .

Have downgraded my weight loss desire to make it seem more achievable & that will take me down to the next 'stone' which if I fit into my clothes I'll be happy with.

Thanks for the card Horace, I love it :D I've been using eye cream religiously & only started wearing contacts about 3 years ago so well used to glasses, I put contacts in this morning but had to take them out again after a couple of hours so think that maybe I should only use them every other day.

Right, off to hang the washing out now & think I may well ignore the garden today & lounge on the sofa instead ... if only i had a large box of chocolates to keep me company ;)

    Good evening,

It has been a beautiful sunny day here & I have done many good things :D Spoke to Dad who mentioned that although I am 'looking after' his hedge trimmer while he is away this week, that he wants it back when he returns. This is his way of saying dont ask to borrow it then leave it in the shed for 6 months like you do with everything else :o.

By 10 o clok this morning I was up a ladder wielding said hedgetrimmer & feeling rather Lara Croft ish ( apart from the figure, looks & athleticism of course ) until it kind of gurgled & died ... oh yes, Lara had managed to cut through the tool's own lead :o Fortunately I once had a b/f who was very safety conscious & conveniently left me his power breaker so there were no severed limbs much to DDs disappointment - she kept asking how many hands I had left. There followed a brief lesson in how to rewire a power cable into a tool & then I resumed my massacre of anything over 6ft tall from atop my ladder. For a short time I felt invincible & was a bit worried that this would lead to me attempting to acquire a chainsaw licence & metal trousers but lacerating an arm on a freshly hacked branch soon brought me back to my senses :(

I did contemplate doing more weeding but having filled 2 bags with branches we decided to take a doggy friend for a walk instead.

On the way home I realised that we had no bread so had to shoot into the local co op& spent £5.80 on bread, milk, sugar & choc ices :shhh: Having blown every chance of achieving my NSD target I'm throwing caution to the wind & sponsoring DD in her sports challenge tomorrow as well

I have made the regular £50 payment to CC1 today & the total debt is now a very tidy £ 5,600. I'm currently hatching a plot to get the debt to under £5,000 by a certain date but havent thought it through fully yet. I do know however, that I am not throwing everything I can at the debt :o & am still spending on unnecessities :naughty:, which must stop .

Have to be up early tomorrow for meter changers so am heading off to bed now - will return with A Plan, seems to be the in thing nowadays & I do hate to be left out :D
