    Well it's tuesday & a very spendalicious day it's been too :o

I started off ok by hanging washing out on the line & then potting up the hollyhock seeds I was given which are now on the windowsill & it went a bit wrong from there ...

A quick trip to the charity shop to drop off some stuff & wave at an old skirt of mine that was hanging there :D & I emerged having spent £2.10 on a candle holder plate & some Simpson's trumps cards for DD - had to buy them due to conversation on S.A.I.D last night & yes Mr. Costington founder of Love Day was among them :rotfl:There was also a pair of brand new wedge heeled brown suede shoes in there but according to T & S I shouldnt wear wedges so I left them there ... for now ;)

Next stop Boots :D I got my favourite skincare range with the cheapest item free - saving £18.50 :j also a new mascara which was desperately needed before people ask if I have flies legs stuck to my eyelids :o & some hair spray which I just wanted :p total spend £ 49.64 & my first points award came to 730 :D not sure if this is good & how much it means in real money terms but it seemed good to me. I still have vouchers for a potential 900 more points + double points & a £2 off till voucher. Cant quite see this is going to help with not spending as I now have to spend in order to receive points but what the heck , it's fun :j I have to say the staff in there were great too, helping to make sure I got maximum pointage & when one of the vouchers wouldnt go through, the assisstant put it through the till manually :T the charming spanish-sounding pharmacist could become my new best friend ;)

Completely forgot about seeking out low carb food stuff but phhhfff whatever :p:D

We then popped in to Waitrose in order to gain free car parking ( see, I am money saving - 50 p :rotfl:) where I spent another £11.07 of which £2 was on a magazine - again had to after last night's conversation & the cover blurb that I can lose 10lbs by sleeping more :j.

We were meant to be meeting my dad for lunch but when I called him after we'd been waiting 20 mins it turned out he'd forgotten  so we told him not to worry & went home probably having saved a few calories.

Got my work done this afternoon then took the cardboard & plastic to the recycling centre & then DD on to bessfriends for a sleepover, so if it's dry tomorrow morning I'll be at the allotment bright & early.

I'm currently trying to decide whether I should sign up for the next 12 issues of a mag for £13 or revert back to ignoring magazines again until debt free after this brief swerve back to civilization

    bye for now

Wow Lula, sounds like you've had a lovely day :j you deserve it :D

Would defo go for the mag - what is life without a few little treats? If it makes you feel better you could always cut out something to the value of £1 a month - 2 chocolate bars maybe :rotfl:DFW and slimming - what more could a girl ask for :D

I see I have missed the literary gathering (shall we put ourselves forward as the new Bloomsbury Group - deliciously intellectual but decidedly minxy? *she adds peeping over the top of her glasses*), so I shall outline my reading confessions for the week:
    • Easy Living (clearly one of the mags of choice here) and Red (studiously avoiding the Red Direct bags and jewellery)
    • Unthinkable - how people behave in disaster situations - a bit spooky in places, but really interesting
    • Sawdry's Places to Stay - research for B&B/potential nights away...
Glad to hear you've had some treats, Lula, especially following the tales of much shoe purchasing. I've also been in Boots this morning - picked up some of that lovely new Nivea body lotion that smells of orange blossom and is meant to make you feel happy. My favourite perfume is Jo Malone orange blossom, so I don't know what that says about me and a desire to be happy. :D There's nowt quite so great as a few little treats.

wow Hollyberry :T you have yourself a new group :j. Do we get to swan around being glamorous, arty & somewhat decadent too :D.

I've decided to go for the magazine offer as it also comes with cosmetic freebies too :D. Strangely enough there was sample of that very same Nivea lotion in the mag & it does smell quite nice. I love orange blossom too & have just had a sniff of Daisy perfume by Marc Jacobs mmmmmm :)

I have been depriving myself of all girlie stuff for too long what with the clothes challenge & using up all old lotions & potions before purchasing new stuff & I think that's what's making me fat & frumpy  I have been so concerned with being a pennypinching moneysaving miser & making home baked bluddy hobnobs that I've lost all sense of fun.

I shall rectify this ASAP :D

Sounds like its girlie makeover challenge time. I'm not even going to try. After yesterday I look like an extra from 101 Dalmations. I painted two ceilings white, got lots and lots of paint in my hair, on my face, down my arms..... Then I did some blue walls and some yellow walls. Even overalls weren't enough to save me. Today is more of the same.

Lula trust your instincts on the shoes. Trinny and Suzannah know diddly squat. Have you seen some of the 1970s curtains that they dredge up and have the bizarre notion that are flattering when in reality they look 3 months pregnant.

Besides all superstitious people know about karma and the equally brilliant requirement that things occur in threes. So to cover yourself for all eventualities:

Karma - something into charity shop = something out of charity shop

The rule of 3 - Magazine, Boots stuff (only counts as one as theres only one till reciept) and ________ *** rectify this immediately otherwise the universe will come to an end (it always does when Bruce Willis is involved)

I think lack of grown up conversation is beginning to affect my marbles.

Hi everyone & Moo, well done on the ceilings :A I really hate that speckled look, no matter how much you scrub there are always a few spots that remain somewhere . You put me to shame, how odd that each holidays I intend to do decorating & then get some ailment that prevents this ... perhaps I should get reading that laws of attraction book & a nice painter/decorator will find his way to my door ;)

It's been a crazy couple of days here, have a had a friend staying which means I've not done any cooking - yay, but have been eating bread, pasta & ice cream in large quantities :o.

Yesterday I did actually manage a NSD but today's spending has more than compensated for it  filled the car up with petrol : £26.89 + new school shoes & trainers for DD : £59 + loan to DD1 (again) :£30

Crazy family having been causing me stress & I'm now really dreading the 'event' on saturday. Why do family never feel it's necessary to ask how you are or whether it's a convenient time for you to listen to them whinge  I had an hour of that this afternoon while trying to overcome the ipod's resistance to having more tunes loaded  & was then told that it would be necessary to listen to whinger having a quiet word at the the event too  . I'm thinking that I'm glad one of my counselliing sessions was postoponed

I checked the CCs online to update interest & was very confused while looking at the Barstycard one until I realise that they've increased my limit again by another £2000 . Technically this means I could now transfer CC2 onto it if it werent for the heinous interest rate ... there must be a way to [STRIKE]exploit [/STRIKE]make the most of this

If I dont get back before sunday ( out visiting owls & monkeys tomorrow :j) I hope everyone has a happy & fun few days off :D

    Hello,

I've been rather naughty the last few days :o,

Went to visit the lovely Wol on friday & Numpty was there too :D. We had a superb roast feast & some cheeky wine too :shhh: but had a great day & felt all chilled out for the family event on saturday. It was fine apart from rather obvious tension between a mother & daughter but I just kept out of that ;). I then went to spend some time with grandmother & aunt looking through old photos & trying to work out who some of the edwardian ladies were. Some beautiful old sepia pictures of great grandparents on card & many lovely ones of my mum when she was a child too. I was given a beautiful one of her which I now have to find a beautiful frame for :)

DD had her usual egg hunt in the garden & then spent most of the day chomping on chocolate & watching tv as the weather was rubbish. Had another roast in the evening too :o

Today we went to the craft shop to buy some bits & pieces for card making & for DDs teddy's clothes . I sewed a new dress for it by hand then remembered that I bought a sewing machine

I have only managed one NSD on sunday & have eaten loads of all the wrong stuff but with only 18 weeks until I wear swimmies then diet is on from tomorrow. Havent actually done any exercise either, having avoided the allotment all weekend too :o but I do feel very refreshed & rested :D.

I've just done the weekly payments to both CCs so CC1 now rests at £ 3,412 & CC2 at £ 2,320. DD is out on thursday so I'm going to try to do a storecupboard week & not spend any money on groceries until friday when I'll have to do a big shop again .

Really need to get serious about the diests - physical & financial as of tomorrow

    bye for now
