Goodnight Lula:D0

Hello,
today was payday :j & having put aside money for all the funds I trotted off to tatco with the intention of only spending £30 on food ....
I duly spent a mere £27.63 on food :A Unfortunately I also had to spend another £8.37 on household bits like kitchen roll, wipes & washing powder ( on offer until sunday so although dont need it yet best to grab a bargain while it's there
)
There was also the small matter of another £3.60 on some very cheap candles ( 2 boxes of 6 fragranced ones for 66p, just couldnt leave them there for that price) 2 boxes of those nice fragranced rattan balls at £1 each & 2 packs of transfer sticker things that will be fab for our card making at what I believed to be 49p each. I got 2 x £2 coins in my change so now have £74
Having got home, unpacked the shopping read, the new rent & council tax bills - another increase of £30 per month - & checked the receipt I realised that I'd been charged £4 for the stickers .
DD1 came over to collect her post & wanted to to go shopping & at this point a huge warning light & alarm should have appeared...
I was determined to go back to Tatco to complain about stickers inspite of DD saying it's not worth it. Oh yes it is, anyone who has read this threa or my las tone will know that Tatco delights in trying to rip me off week after week after week  . I left DD1 circling the carpark in my car while I dealt with customer service. Nice lady checked & said that transfers had been put on the wrong shelf so the price was right but as it wasnt her money & the price displayed was wrong she would refund me anyway
Bless her, she refunded me £4.51 so I got the transfers for free & an extra 51p  . Ha ha that'll pay for the petrol for going up there then, nice one tatco :T And the lovely lady gave me 2 x £2 coins, so now have £78
We then headed off to shopping town & oh dearie me we ventured in to primarni & lo & behold I came out with 3 tops, a pair of linen trousers & £18.13 lighter
which I now have to declare to the Single & Fabulous girls _pale_ & the crazy clothes challengers . In my change I got another £2 coin so now have £80
Only another £40 & I'll have paid for the car tax
On the plus side I have done very well with food today & have a slightly empty feeling which I am ignoring as that's a good thing rather than a hugely overstuffed feeling
I did try to ring the LA about the rent increase as I dont agree with it as I get paid over 47 weeks a year rather than the 52 they've based the increase on. Needless to say I couldnt get through, so will deal with that on monday along with the credit card plea.
Off to do my confessions elsewhere now ...

Yep, the title says it all, again
Saturday ended up being a bit of a rubbish day. I discovered that someone close to me has run up debts the size of mine in less than 2 years in spite of knowing about my situation  When I asked why they hadnt come to me for advice I was given a brief character assassination that left me in no doubt of my failings
To cheer myself up I decided to take DD into town again. I bought her a new dress, doll, & attempted to buy myself a very pretty cardigan on my CC as I'd run out of cash .
Some weird kind of karma kicked in at this point as when I tried to punch in my pin number it was rejected twice - I abstained from trying a 3rd time & having the card blocked & left the cardigan there & scurried away in shame & bewilderment
. I was just about to ring up & demand to know why my pin number didnt work & then a dusty old bell started ringing in the back of my mind... checked the folder with all my CC stuff in & sure enough there was the piece of paper with my 'new' (July2008 ) pin number not even opened
:o:o.
Not sure what the moral of that story is but I am so glad that in July2008 I had the sense to not open that pin number; it would have been a comfort purchase & would probably have opened the spending floodgates.
I still managed to spend £18.41 though  Having broken the carpet sweeper a couple of weeks ago & struggled to keep the carpets clean since I finally gave in on sunday & bought a half price hoover from argos for £27, so spent a good 2 hours making up for lost hoovering time.
The result of all this sillyness is that I've spent £125 n the last week of which only £30 was on essential groceries & an embarassing £41 was on non essentials for me.
I've finally managed to have another NSD today although I'll be very lucky to get to my monthly target of 15.
I've made the usual CC payments so CC1 now stands at £3,354 & CC2 at £2,295. Not sure why but those numbers feel signifcantly lower now & my next big goal will be to get the debt under £5,000.
Finally spoke to the LA abut the rent increase to be told that I just need to write in when I'm not working ... this led me to realise that I've been in this situation for the last 3 years & it's never occurred to me that I might get a lower rent rate due to not gettng paid for 4 /5 weeks of the year, how dumb am I .
I checked the CC website again before I applied for the balance transfer & it appears that a minimum income qualifying clause has been added & I am no longer eligible .
Hey ho, have signed up for some more survey sites & will just have to keep on cutting down & make sure I dont spend on any unnecessary stuff

Morning Lula,
Don't some people make your blood boil! They're not worth it. You are doing brilliantly just keep going, chances are that you'll be out of debt and wiser for it before they turn round.
GGRRR!!! to the credit card people. Hope you find one that you are eligible for soon.
Will catch up with you later.

Ahhh Lula. The occasional wibble does not mean that you are not a fabulous debt-buster. That £1k didn't disappear all by itself y'know
... It sounds as though someone else is in a state of denial (is it called transferrence when someone projects their failings onto you?).
We are all spendy from time to time.
It's only a minor attack of the spendys in the grand scheme of things. Those amounts outstanding are getting better and better, and it's good news on the rent. I know it's hard to keep on keeping on, but you really are doing such a great job. :A 0 -
sometimes you need an attack of the spendys - its what keeps us sane. Anyway, as Hollyberry says the person is in denial and transferring their failings onto you - you didnt spend their money did you?
I think you do a fab job so dont let them drag you down to their level. I am trying not to spend...I have already had a huge attack of the spendys, enough to last me for the next 4 years as I bought a few key items for my wardrobe including some high heeled shoes:eek:0 -
Evening all,
thanks for support guys
Have actually had a good ish day today. I spent a couple of hours in the garden first thing & managed to uproot more brambles & wees & discoverd some plants that have reproduced so potted them up to fill one of the other gaps that will appear when I've done more weeding  filled 3 bags of rubbish & took them to the tip.
Have had loads of work on today but unfortuantely didint start until 3.30 so only finished about half an hour ago.
Penultimate freebie counselling session today & more weird stuff came out that I'd forgotten about but I feel fine & quite positive so next week is the 'wrapping up' session & then I'll be quite glad to get my tuesday afternoons back as it's playing havoc with the work schedule. I've been considering paying for some private sessions but think as long as I can keep up with debt repayment, get out in the garden & up to the allotment every week & have the occasional whinge on here then I'll keep moving onwards & upwards.
Had to top up at the local co op & spent £5.99 on milk, bread, salad & buttery spread - bogof  & got a £2 coin.
I also attempted to do a survey but got screened out for being too late
I'm now rather tired & have a selection of washing up to get done so will head off now

Morning fabby peeps

DD has become an early bird so she wants to be at school by 8.20
which means I get to Tatco by 8.30 & get to shop in peace & very quickly too.
Spent a total of £43.11 of which £ 23.09 only was on groceries, so I think I'm getting the hang of it now. Am buying less & therefore wasting less . I also got another £2 coin in my change so really really pleased, now have £84 :j
The other £20 was on household bits such as big loo roll stock up, toothbrushes, shower gel, new water bottle for DD some mini food tubs which are great for packed lunches & the only non exxential item I bought was a weeder for £2.50. I weighed this up against the bottles of weedkiller/lawn feed at £10  & decided the weeder was not only the cheaper option but could also come in handy as a weapon should I be attacked by giant triffids while in the garden
Have topped up all the funds & readjusted the rent & council tax standing orders. Put another £10 of fuel in the car so dont have to do the big £40 one each month.
Need to ring fuel company to check that the meters will be changed on monday, havent had a refusal letter so assume its full steam ahead
Going to the garden centre later to make the most of the plant bogof vouchers they sent me, it's 2 years today that my mum passed so I want to get something fabulous to put in the garden to remember her
bye for now
