Went to Aldi this morning and bought another of the window cill greenhouses, so now we have pots for 60 plants to be potted on and put in the window. OH also wanted to go to the library and Wilkinsons for Sulphate of potash.
Went over to my quilting friends, just got back to find OH in darkness in bed, so guess he has had a dizzy at soem point during the afternoon. I guess he's not been in bed long, his tea cup and plate are in the sink. He's out for the count and I am sure not going to wake him.
It was a nice morning, but we had rain this afternoon and it looks a bit black over bill's mothers right now, so guess we are in for some more.
Nothing from the agents yet re the rental agreement........may not hear until tomorrow..........
We also got 2 shrubs at Aldi a flowering currant and a dog wood, both of whch will grow in pots......the dogwood has lovely flowers on and the branches are a lovely red colour during the winter. Will plant them in pots when we go to the allotment on Sunday morning.
Tomorrow we have an appointment at the eye clinic for OH, should not be so busy as in the week, here's hoping any way.
Sunny..........glad that all went well when you went to the vets, it is so sad when we loose and old friend, but I am sure she had a good life, and is chasing rabbits in heaven now.....((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))
HM fish and chips tonight........Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Hi Guys!
Sorry Ive not posted properly in a while but I've not been too well again, but wont go on about it. It's been a struggle but will try and keep posting as it gives me some focus.
WM has been on twice and hung outside. DW has been on and emptied. House clean and tidy. We have a ton of ironing that OH is struggling to keep up with as Ive had numerous appointments these last 2 weeks.
SC has been on with 2 beef joints to take to relatives tomorrow but dont think there will be enough:eek: ....there will be 9-10 all together (2 kids who dont eat much) and the joints weighed 1.4kg combined but they have shrunk a lot in the SC......do you think there will be enough for a roast dinner? Will also have yorkies, roasties and a ton of veg???? I have a packet of lovely sausages (6) that I may get out the freezer to take to top up...what do you think?
Our milk delivery is getting later and later. It came about half an hour ago and have had no full milk since last night, just UHT which is fine but I prefer full silvertop. 2 eggs were cracked too, so I called and moaned. I also asked about the delivery as we only have milk Mon & Fri but we dont get it till after 3pm each day and its getting silly. We only do it to give the milkman custom but I have had to give a few pints back recently as the milk has turned so quickly. What should I do? I can now do a top up online if needed, but it just comes so late.
Order from Approved foods came today and I am very happy again with the goods and prices. OH drinks alot of fresh coffee and I managed to get 10 1kg bags of coffee beans. 12 litres of grapefruit juice (Del Monte), 4 x tip top cream, 3 x chilli con carne sauce tins, 62 mini boxes of raisins and 3 x chillies for £23 inc delivery. Coffee beans are lovely and OH made a fresh pot. Tried to go back on to order more but they have now sold out:rolleyes: ....nevermind but I thought it was all great value!
Our quarterly G&E bill came in at £515:eek:    ...so they have increased our DD to £150pm and I have just bought 3 x rad thermostats as upstairs doesnt need to be as warm as the lounge where I am most of the time. It does sound alot but when I worked it out over the year, it worked to £3.50 a day for both and we are here 24/7 and it has to be at a certain temp for my body etc.
I am waffling now...sorry.
Hugs to all.

Hi all
Especially Sunny Girl - wow what a day you have had but she is in a place now where no harm can get to her,our lovely little cavalier spaniel went just like Penny, she was brown and white so my daughter named her "Barley" cos she looked the colour of barley sugar sweets lol,one day her legs just went at the back and she dragged herself over the step in the kicthen to go toilet and i just said Cmon old girl enough is enough, she looked at me and Im sure she knew - my son came to the vets with me and he was only about 15 but he held her whilst the vet did the job,she just lay and looked at him,me I was in bits in the corner of the room, total wreck! 5 mins and she was gone,I like to think she drifted up to heaven, like in a sleepstate. The day after was abismal, you keep lookin for them etc - but rest assured its an act of love you have performed, and thats the best you can do for them when they get to that stage. They know and understand how good lifes been.:ABetter to light a candle than to curse the darkness. :beer:0 -
The old sprouts have been dug up out of the back garden and the broccolli has been trimmed a bit, we didn`t get a single sprout off the plants but the broccolli now has heads on - very small but i`m hopeful that they will continue to grow enough to get some food from them.
Sunny, I did not have a single sprout either, but I am the proud owner of one head of brocoil, which is just about ready for picking
, I am not doing cabbage, sprouts or brocoli this year, too much work for no return, will stick to things I know will grow x
Sunnygirl, bless you glad it all went as well as it could, she is at peace now xx
Dory, :T :T its good to see you posting, now dont be a stranger:kisses3:

Have good evenings all, I have just done another hour on my wii0 -
My DM and her OH are coming to stay with us tomorrow, they are coming down to see our newborn DGD2. Also DD1 and DGD1 are going to visit the baby.
Just had a phone call from DD2 at 6.10pm to ask if it would be ok for everyone to come here instead of her home.
So, --- now I will have 6 to cook for all at different times. I have done a cottage pie for DM & OH, DH and me for dinner at 7pm. DD1 and DGD1 are veggies and will be here for lunch so I have cooked an 8" quiche. Don't know what to cook for DD2 and SiL2b as it depends on baby feeding times as to when they can get here.
Anyone keeping up ?? coz even I'm confused.
So,,,,,, DM & her OH here at 12 for lunch plus DH and me.
DD1 & DGD1 here for lunch 1.30pm (veggies)
DD2 & SiL2b need to be fed but don't know what time.
I've made an 8" quiche today but that wont feed everyone. Have done a cottage pie for dinner,,,,,, no good for the veggies.
Oh darn it, bleep, bleep, bleep, best laid plans and all that.
I'll proberbly think of plan "B" at 4 am.
At least I have dinner for me and DH sorted for tonight, YS duck legs, meat stripped off and have marinated overnight in a hoi-sin sauce, with rice and YS spring rolls.
Sorry if I'v bored the pants off you . Have a good weekend. x0 -
PP - sorry you've been poorly, hope things pick up a bit for you. We miss you when you're not posting. Thanks for supporting your milkman, :T my DH's a milkman but he always delivers at the crack of dawn(gets up at 2am).Do what you love :happyhear0

Redruby, i`ve got some cabbages in the greenhouse, i`m not sure what will happen to them yet though
I`m trying this http://www.realseeds.co.uk/cookinggreens.html this year, scroll down the page to mixed leaf amaranths. I`ve never seen or heard of them before but what really made me decide was reading that caterpillars leave them alonei refuse to spend hours every night picking the blasted things off the plants. Guess what i found in the garden today - one very large green caterpillar  it should be far too cold for them at the moment. Thank goodness there was only the one.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -

Hockeyduo - I'm glad I'm not the only softie - I was having a good blub too! Havea great time at Murrayfield!
Feeling a lot better now, managed to eat some dinner but trying to talk loud enough in rehearsals was a stuggle - being loud is not normally a problem for me!!:p
Going to head to bed in a bit, if my drunk housemates will let me! Got 10-9 in rehearsals tomorrow, so missing the rugby  hopefully will be able to see the England match on Sunday though. Best of luck rugby fans, even if you support Scotland
Have a lovely evening everyone, don't do anything I wouldn't do
