tenner a day so about £200 but i suspect it will be more
quoting myself i suppose this is post 9 with 3 posts by OP now six pages thick £200 isnt bad for that distance (£10 per day)but it is a fir distance to travel everyday to work and suprising and lucky two work mates live so close yet so far from school. hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0 -
It's quite interesting to see everyone's different opinions about it.
I used to give a friend (and colleague) a lift to work and home, but I literally drove straight past her house in both directions. I didn't ask for any money as I was travelling that route (and further) every day anyway, but when we went out she would often pay for my drinks as a thank you (quite cheap for her as I'm pretty much tee-total!).
I enjoyed the company for the drive (well, most of the time except for one journey where we had a huge row on the way to work and she told me she wouldn't be surprised if my boyfriend was having an affair! Needless to say, she didn't get a lift home that evening!), and she got to work and home again so it worked out well.
However, if she had just been a colleague rather than a friend as well then I may have preferred a more formal arrangement and charged her a small amount. However, something like £200 a month sounds like a lot even for a 80 mile round trip. I'd be worried about becoming reliant on that money and feeling hard up if that person left the job and didn't need the lift any more!0
