                    Hi,
I feel stupid because this ought to be simple IMO!
Trying to play from my ipod onto my crummy laptop speakers.
No itunes. Have connected ipod to input jack (I think - blue one?)
Can't get any sound. Nothing appears to be muted. I'm not sure if I need software to be able to do this - all I have is Media PLayer 9 if that's any help.
Without downloading any software... is this doable? (Downloads not possible)

You might be able to do it with Windows sound recorder, or possibly the free sound editing tool Audacity0

It looks like the only input option I have is the built in mic - it doesn't detect the ipod through the jack (not that surprising) or show any other input options.
I'm assuming I'd need to download Audacity, which isn't an option today. My TV is broken!

In control panel / audio.. right click and select 'view disabled'.. it might show you an extra option. It kinda seems crazy to have a mic input jack with no drivers for it0

Sorry, what am I right clicking? I'm in Sounds & Audio Devices.
I'm not 100% sure about the driver being missing btw, it's just that the only settings I can find are for mics.My TV is broken!

on most of the desktop computers i have had, the input jack has been a red/pinky colour.
also, i found that i had to turn the volume up to the max (on the ipod) to get a decent volume from the comps speakers.0

That's the one labelled as mic, is that right?
I was wondering whether I had the right jack as well, hence me mentioning the colour first off
Trying pink socket with full volume on everything, but nothing My TV is broken! My TV is broken!

double click the volume icon near the clock and see if all the input controls are up full and uncheck the mute box if any of them have it ticked0
