oh I meant to comment on that before!
Aparently the heart rate thing only works after a certain point I think its 28ish weeks *runs off to google!*

EDIT: babycentre says "Another method that you often hear about these days is measuring babies' heart rates in the womb -- girls are meant to have higher heart rates than boys -- and there have actually been some medical trials to test this theory. Although they revealed that a baby's heartbeat changes at different stages of pregnancy, no link has been found between heart rate and the sex of the baby."
    http://www.babycenter.in/pregnancy/naming/howtotellsexofbaby/

EDIT AGAIN: seems it stems from it being true for adults.
"A baby's heart rate is normally between 110 and 160 beats per minute (bpm). Women's heart rates are faster than men's so some people think if a baby's heart rate is faster it's a girl and if it's slower it's a boy, but there is no evidence to suggest that this is true. Your baby's heart rate will probably change throughout pregnancy as it depends on the gestational age of your baby and the activity level."

They haven't written baby's heartbeat on my notes, just that it has been heard... I asked the midwife if it was true you could tell the sex from it last time I was there but she said it was nonsense...

Got the midwife next week... Wonder if it will be my own or a completely different one again.... Place your bets ;)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

38 ways to guess your baby's sex
What could be more fun than trying to guess the sex of your baby-to-be? Everyone wants to get in the game Don't be surprised if someone you've never met stops you at the supermarket, offering a prediction of your baby's gender. For hundreds of years, expecting mums have relied on time-tested methods of guessing their baby's sex. Even though these old wives' tales are far from foolproof, they are certainly more fun than their more reliable successors, amniocentesis and ultrasound. Enjoy guessing your baby's sex!

    random question..
Any of you preg ladies speak french??
    I've just seen a fellow MSE forum member's sig and it says;
"I married my cousin. I had to...
    I don't have a sister.:D
Pas d'elle y en ne que nous."
I used a web translator and it says "No it does in that we" which makes no sense so obviously not the "true" translation or the person who wrote it is as mad as their user name claims :rotfl:

Mine was always exactly 140 bpm  .

Hope MFD has a lovely fast painfree day!

Weezl - he's gorgeous! Thanks for the story - I got goosebumps and tears again!

  • ooh check this out too

Look in the mirror and you will see,
whether a girl or a boy it will be,
Is your hair full of body, with a lusterous shine
or is it thin and stringy, and makes you want to whine?

(full of body with a lusterous shine - boy, thin and stringy - girl)

For the next question, you need to look to your legs,
there down there somewhere, a little voice said.
Is your hair growing faster, could you make your own braids?
Or is it the same as before you were preg?

(faster - boy, same - girl)

How about your nails, my pregnant friend
Are they growing stronger and fast like the wind?
Or is the growth about the same as before
no changes at all, which can be quite a bore.

(stronger - boy, same - girl)

When you wake in the morn are you green at the gills?
Unable to rise from your bed without being ill?
Or are you a lucky one who morning sickness has missed,
and you spend your mornings in a state of happy bliss?

(green at the gills - girl, happy bliss - boy)

Look at your cravings, for I'm told they will tell
the gender of your unborn child as well...
Is it sour taste that makes your day?
and lemons, and pickles keep you on your happy way?
Or do you find yourself craving sweets,
and always looking around for a nice little treat?

(lemons and pickles - boy, sweeties, girl)
