They can't bring it forwards yet can they? It's only in the 4 weeks prior to your due date they can bring your maternity leave forward:Pregnancy-related illness
If you're off work for a pregnancy-related illness during the four weeks before your baby is due, your maternity leave and statutory maternity pay (from your employer) or maternity allowance (from Jobcentre Plus) will start automatically, no matter what you had agreed with your employer.DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! The instructions say to be careful but that it is OK in pregnancy. I think the worry is if you shove it in too hard you might damage the cervix maybe? Or induce labour or something? I don;t know but I'd imagine it's to do with that kind of thing.
Where's Sami when you need her?She knows everything!
On the kicks thing I personally am happy if bubs has some wiggly moments through out the day I've never counted them as never got to a point where I've been worried, I have heard that lots of MW don't like to mention counting kicks as it can scare mum2Bs unnecessarily, I'm pretty laid back about most things in life tho, I just trust my body to do its thing and rarely question it - its done ok so far
I'm glad you read the instructions, I always wondered if I'm the only person who reads the full leaflet even if it's something I've used millions of times before :rotfl: I thought it said just to be careful

why castor oil??
I'm guessing cos it's an old wives tale about helping bring on labour. However, that's because it stimulates the bowel and makes you have a poo - which can stimulate the cervix to start labour, but unlikely. If you want that route, have a spicy curry instead - at least it will taste nice going down (unlike castor oil - bleurgh!)
chemist's don't often sell things like castor oil now because of people misusing it (inc to bring on labour, I believe)

Morning all!
Been for my 32 week scan and consultants appointment this morning. All fine with the twins and they are both definitely head down! To make an appoximate weight they need 3 different measurements and one twin didn't want to play ball with hiding its head but the other one has measured 4lbs 2oz which is almost on a par with a singleton pregnancy! Although it is getting uncomfy, I want them to stay in there longer - until the house is finished, pretty please!!!
I was told off though as my iron is still low and I keep forgetting to take tablets.
The nursey now has had its coats of paint (real glad it only needed painting as fully decoarted , added new electrics and re-aligned wonky doors 3 years ago) and is all lovely in its lemon colour!
Which means today, I can hopefully do some playing and putting things back itno the nursey all nice and pretty like (whilst trying avoid the plaster who is making a dman mess in the hallway!). I want to play nurseries!!! :rotfl:Proud mother of twin boys - double the trouble and twice the pleasure! :T0 -

PS - Yes Jillie we were talking about it in the context of it starting labour, but it is now widely believed (not sure if its turned to fact yet) that all it does is make you feel sick, give you tummy ache, bowel pains and give you dia-woo-woo Don't think I'd be rushing out for some! :rotfl:0
