If he does catch it though you can have your antibodies checked, and if you aren't immune from your first exposure they will give you antibodies which will give you a temporary immunity.
...I'm only 12 weeks and so far this pregnancy I've been exposed to both chicken pox and measles
Do they do that as a matter of course or just if you ask them too? I didn't catch it from my friends DD or DS & I'm probably just being paranoid but you know how it is!
That's bad luck to get exposed to both - glad you are ok!

Oh yes AM, I don't want to worry you but make sure you get your itchyness checked. Our friend has had 3 children & each time she has developed that liver problem that makes you itch (can't remember for the life of me what it's called & too lazy to google) so has had to be induced at 37 weeks to keep her & the babies safe.
It may of course just be that your skin is adverse to being stretched lots!

I dont think it's that, I'm not yellow and not particularly itchy anywhere else, well except my arm but I thought it was all just a rash from an allergy.
I'll see what they say, if they prescribe something then it doesnt go away i;ve got an appointment with the MW on Monday anyway so will ask her.
Aggghhhh it's really bad! I am going to get some cold flannels to put on it i think, i been wal;king around the house with my top lifted up over my bump all morning! :rotfl::j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -

Only if you go to them having been exposed to chickenpox and ask them to check. Pregnant woman aren't routinely screened for it afaik.0 -
Nicki - that was bad luck! I had an MMR jab 5 whole days max before getting pregnant only to find out from ur lovely self that they should have check that I wasn't preg/ttc
If there is anything wrong with my bubs when s/he arrives they will be getting slapped with a court case!!
I have already had, Chicken pox, mumps, rubella, glandular fever.... the list is endless!! you'd never guess I was BFed :rotfl:0 -
Right - about to start the mammoth task of listing the spare baby clothes on ebay... anyone have any suggestions what time and day would be the best for baby clothes to end on? I mean normally I try to end my auctions saturday and sunday evening - more people round that time of the weekend normally but not sure if many mummies etc would be round that time to look for baby clothes...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Hi
Can I join? Since I've read the whole thing I thought I should! I'm due 7 Nov (doctor's estimate - not seen MW yet).
This is my first and I have no symptoms at all - am so worried I've made the whole thing up! I booked the appt at the antenatal clinic at St Mary's in Manchester and I have to wait until the 9th April! Is that normal? It's so long away! I'll be almost 10 weeks by then (lmp was 30th Jan).
Does it always seem like such a long wait? November is ages away! Sorry I'm not the most patient person. I'll be 26 soon so I'm sure I'll mature a bit.0 -
Tine not sure really
if its newborn I'd have thought weekend is still best as 1st timers will still be looking at that time
I always buy mid-week and use a sniper, so not an ideal customer
are you putting it on in little bundles? I found that was the only way to make anything on non-designer stuff.
Nefertare - welcome along1st antenatal apps are usually between 6 - 10 weeks depending on area so ur just about in there, although my 1st app was with MW at GP I didn't go to hosp MWs until my 12wk scan

Sami_Bee thanks for the reply! We don't have MW at our GPs so you have to go to one of the antenatal clinics apparently (or that's what I was told, he was a junior doctor so you never know he may have got it wrong!) and I had a choice of three, but Manchester St Mary's was the only one I knew the location of. Pity it's the biggest one so has the longest wait! My own fault I guess.
Anyway looking forward to reading the forum.0 -
There are a couple of Jasper Conran bits that will go on seperately and quite a lot of Next baby stuff that will go on seperately in smaller bundles but yeah the rest will go on in managable bundles - only way to do it! Have separated the tiny baby stuff to one side, the new born in another - now i just have to seperate the 0-3 from the 3months and up lol
The good thing ofcourse is that listing it won't cost anything now with the free listing for things 99p and under startingDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

You can always change your mind if you want to pick another hospital
And it's not necessarily easier to get an appointment with teh MW if they are attached to your doctors surgery - we have a HUGE surgery and the midwife is in 2 days a week only... that's it... means that often it's a 4 week wait to see her for a non-emergency appointment - on the other hand I can always get to see my GP same or next day.
I seem to manage to see her when needed because my GP has insisted - means I often get an appointment before their normal hours which suits me fineDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
