AM - read this and thought how has she got away with that! Nearly choked on my chocolate!

ASDA's own chocolate Feelie - it's not too bad you know, 2 x 200g bars for £1.54. Wouldn't it be cheaper for your OH to get protein shakes or powder to make shakes if he wants high protein? My OH does this - he was a skinny minny at 17 but a few yearsafter bulking up on these shakes and going to the gym he's an Adonis! He's kept it up as well :D

Somethings I will buy own brand - I buy Smartprice tinned tomatoes and kidney beans for chillis and mexican chicken dish but can't eat Smartprice beans. I'll eat ASDA brand beans though - the only thing I don't and can't scimp on is meat. I have to have steak mince and nice chicken breasts.

I always buy things when they are on offer and they go in the chest freezer in the garage, I do buy birds eye chicken breasts and have them with rice which is an easy meal for me when OH not hungry.
Asda's own tinned toms ar ming IMHO god know what the smart price ones are like :p I never get meat from asda, I can't stand it :o Mum gets all her meat from asda and it's always tough and pooh :p

Protein shakes would be cheaper, but OH doesn't like them! Only way to get the calories and protein he needs is in nice food!

I only have a very little freezer, so can't buy in bulk. Its a rented house and I have nowhere I could put another freezer, so everything has to be fresh.

Probably spend about £20 a week on alcohol, OH likes his beer! He also likes nice orange juice and real Coke.

In case he is out of work in April, from next week I'll be doing a cheaper shop, I'm aiming for £75 for the two of us. Fingers crossed!

Bunbun also gets through 7 carrots, 3 parsnips, a thing of celery, two brocolli things, a cauliflower, three apples, a bag of grapes and a cabbage in a week!

workinmummy - let me know if RAEI do your nuchal scan as part of NHS scans. I might have next one in Wigan!! Instead of having to go private this time!

Glamzon, No nucal scan at RAEI. Dating scan - mine is 23 March. 20 week scan and Quatrupal test.

I hate tomatoes but need them for a chilli or mexican chicken - they taste fine to me but then my old man used to make chilli using Tesco Value Mince  The steak mince from ASDA is fine and I buy sausages from there as well, ASDA is about 30 secs from my house so it is conveinient on the way home from work. I can't be arsed to drive down to Tesco especially if Rugby is on cos stadium right by Tesco.

Feelie - I let OH buy all his own beer, Coke and treats and I buy mine. He doesn't agree with me spending money on treats and I aint forking out for his! I must admit the protein shakes are rank and they make his breath and his !!!!! stink afterwards!

Non Vintage Pierre Darcys champagne brut 75C3 £12
This champagne is an elegant blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Pale gold in colour with fresh and delicate aromas of lemon and apple. Its perfect balance and crispness of flavour make it ideal as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to shellfish or smoked salmon. 12% Info.

If this is from where I think it is (Lidl), it is delicious, quite dry and I once took a couple of bottles to a shampers party and had comments about how nice it was. Mush preferable to Moet or veuve clique IMHO they are both to sweet
  • Bit annoyed with my parents as they have already started going to the caravan for the weekends which will leave me with no one to look after DS2 if I have bubs at the weekend. That will mean my OH will have to look after him and I will be on my own.

Glad it's not just me that has had horrid stuff from ASDA.
We only go to ASDA if we are shopping on a budget (Our local ASDA is really crowded and always smells of BO! ) But we never buy fish from there anymore, we have bought Salmon that was off and mussels that made DH really ill. My mum has bought cod that was off from there as well.
There is another ASDA 30 minutes drive away that is a Wal-Mart store, but we end up spending too much in there too (And there is a Macdonalds right outside and the temptation proves too much :o )

Our grocery bills have been horrendous the last couplel weeks as we just couldn't be bothered to meal plan and did a fair bit of takeaway due to stress and the general situation of running back and forth to hospital and such. Now hopefully we'll be back to our norm of £50 per week. Ouch but our budget has taken a beating!

Quatrapal test?! Wow, we only get offered triple test! That was good getting your dating scan so soon after booking in. When I tried to make my 19 week scan in 7 weeks time there was only a couple of slots left!
Mean to say that my MW told me that if you have nuchal scan private you don't need triple test - did you say you were going for nuchal?

Sami - she's not a monster now come on! :rotfl:
