Weekly shop here is about £150. Far too expensive, and hubby keeps saying I need to try and get it to be cheaper. Suppose I do, but I like my food!
Fcuk me, what are you buying for that!

    A lot :o

I'm not sure how it all adds up to be honest, each individual thing isn't that expensive.

OH is a on a very high protein diet, so there is a lot of chicken and meat.

And a lot of chocolate :o

Next shop will be on Monday, and I'm under strict instructions to get it cheaper, so I'll let you know how I get on!

    Who do you shop with?
I am going to have to rethink our shopping budget, we really cant shop on the measly £30 I am used to lol
I find that I end up going up the local shops for more stuff and end up spending more!
So I should be able to go a whole week without doing that!
I do a big shop in asda and get top ups and meat from tesco and the occasional top up from netto coz it's nearer (I've even walked the less than 1/2 a mile to netto or tesco a few times _pale_) I am sooo lazy but in my defense I live at the top of a steep hill so walking to netto/tesco is fine but back up the hill with added shopping kills me!

AM - read this and thought how has she got away with that! Nearly choked on my chocolate!

ASDA's own chocolate Feelie - it's not too bad you know, 2 x 200g bars for £1.54. Wouldn't it be cheaper for your OH to get protein shakes or powder to make shakes if he wants high protein? My OH does this - he was a skinny minny at 17 but a few yearsafter bulking up on these shakes and going to the gym he's an Adonis! He's kept it up as well :D

Somethings I will buy own brand - I buy Smartprice tinned tomatoes and kidney beans for chillis and mexican chicken dish but can't eat Smartprice beans. I'll eat ASDA brand beans though - the only thing I don't and can't scimp on is meat. I have to have steak mince and nice chicken breasts.

I always buy things when they are on offer and they go in the chest freezer in the garage, I do buy birds eye chicken breasts and have them with rice which is an easy meal for me when OH not hungry.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker Debt-free and Proud!
My weekly shop has been over £150 recently :o (2 Adults and a dog!)
In my defense though, we have a new MASSIVE Tesco opened near us that sells everything. So I have been buying Baby stuff, books, computer games, electiricals etc. with my weekly shop, rather than going seperately to the shopping Mall. My usual weekly shop is still around £80-£100 though. :o

  • OMG!!! New thread!!!

Will catch up later but just wanted to post to say have got my test results back after the nuchal translucency and triple test...

Have come back with a much lower adjusted risk (after the tests) than the background risk (due to age). Am under 1:4000 for Down's, which is reassuring. The baby's a little small (on 5% line) but the report doesn't comment on this, guess we'll pick that up with the midwife.
