This may sound silly - do you weigh the eggs before you have cracked and beaten them (with shell) or after???0

Enjoy baking
I really like it! I can't add anything to what others have said, apart from they're usually ready when they're golden brown. If the recipe says 15 minutes, then still keep an eye on them - they might need longer/shorter time depending on whether you have a fan oven, whether you've preheated the oven (do if it's not a fan oven) etc.

Following on from above, to tell if they're ready, prod one gently in the middle - if it springs back up it's ready, if it makes a dent then they need a bit longer0

I use this recipe as its easy:
6oz s/r flour
6oz marg or butter
6oz caster sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp baking power (increase this if using plain flour)
a few drops of vanilla essence or 1tbsp of coco powder for choc cakes
Shove all ingrediants in a bowl together & mix until all mixed together. Add a tiny bit of water if it doesn't drop off your wooden spoon easily after mixing. Half fill cake cases and bake for 15 mins gas mark 5
Couldn't be easier ( i use this method to bake a big cake too)0 -
I have never come across this method of weighing the eggs, sorry for being so vacant but why is it that the eggs dictate the dry ingredients??
Thanks:j Started my weightloss journey, its neverending!! :j
