  • Ooooh, I'm jealous - I've got a toddler group on Tuesday morning so I have to wait til Tuesday afternoon to place my order.

In the meantime though, I sent an email to all my customers attaching the supplement download and already have an order for the racing cars range.

Good going! I emailed my customer list last night and so far nothing...
I've just been to collect my brochure drop, no orders and 33 brochures lost  Am just at home printing off some more 'sorry I missed you' flyers. Grrr! Nevermind, the next time I do it I could do really well so not giving up all hope yet. Plus I'm going back on Wednesday to see how many more brochures I can retrieve!!

Anyway, doing a stall tomorrow so hopefully that'll be more successful. Also signed up for a village carnival in July and a wedding fayre at the end of May. Oh and to answer a question re: was the lady I sponsored a customer. The answer is no, she was on my Christmas card list so I sent her a brochure and she's decided to give it a go. Yay!
Have a good long weekend everyone!
Trying to earn some extra cash, just in case :undecided
  • DWW, do keep going back to pick up your brochures, most will eventually materialise and I often get orders from those who put the brochure out late, although you probably need to accept you are going to lose around 10% of brochures on each drop.

I write on the baggie with marker pen which day I am coming to collect, I have never had more than half left out on a first visit, but by putting a note through the door and going back I normally retrieve most of them. It's often worth going back 1 week after, people don't always realise which "Thursday" or "Tuesday" I mean as I don't put the exact date on the bags because then I'd have to rub it off to use them again!! I've also had people ring me and say "You didn't knock on the door!", or drop them back to my house when I've put the note through as they didn't want to leave their order outside, which is kind of understandable.

I've had a £30 order from my May supplement email so far, with a promise of 3 more after the weekend, so a good result.

    Hi,

Just a quick question. When you email everyone about the suppliment is there a way to attach the download to the email?
  • when you open the download, you can save it to your own pc then attach it to emails. I also put a link in the email to the new products in case they couldn't download th supplement.

    Hi there,
Looking for some tips on doing brochure drops.. I've done a couple but only got one order So far I've dropped off on Monday pick up Thurs or vice versa to give plenty time for people to have a look. Looking for tips on when to pick up , morning or evening and whether you ask for payment in advance? wondering if people are wary of leaving cheques on the doorstep.. would really appreciate some advice, want to make it work without trying to re-invent the wheel.... thanks!

    Hi Glenshee,
I can't pretend to be an expert here, I have only done it 3 times now. The first time I got 3 orders from a small cul-de-sac,the next time nothing from about 20 houses in my street, the third time 3 orders amounting to about £60 from 20 houses. I leave them for almost a week, so they have a weekend to browse. I don't ask for payment up front, though two people did enclose cheques. The biggest factor I feel in getting orders or not seems to be the area. The times I did get orders were in newly built estates, at quite expensive houses. As one friend said, the well-off are more canny with money! Or perhaps they are too busy out working to pay the large mortgages on these houses that they don't have time to visit card shops. Who knows.

I did enclose an introductory letter which gave a friendly, helpful touch, and a sample card. Though, is it just me or does anyone else think the birthday slice cards aren't the nicest ones to give as samples. I got loads of those in my starter pack, but I don't particularly like them.

    Hi

No I don't like birthday slice that much either - not the best choice for a sample card imo. Interested to hear other's tips for a brochure drop - have done three so far, first one I got one order out of about 15 houses, second was one order from around 20 and the last one was zero out of 25! Hope others have better luck!!

On a more positive note, from tomorrow i'm going all out on Phoenix - got lots of ideas and will be putting them into practice!

    Hope everyone enjoying long weekend.

    Hi

sorry to butt in on the thread, but work with a different ds company and wonder if I could compare prices on website usage. I understand that with PT you can have an internet link to allow people to buy from you online - can you tell me if they charge you for that, and if so, how much?

    Thanks

    :D

Hi i'm new as a PT and have to say how helpful this forum is, thank you. I am thinking of doing a brochure drop like many of you are doing, I was wondering what you but in it other then your brochure?
