Its all gone quiet over here?! We'd slipped to the 3rd page!!
Anyway, having a bit of a flurry of activity, including writing to schools to see if they're having a summer fete.
I've not had any experience with this before and was wondering if anyone had any tips with writing to schools/PTA's etc I just don't want to put on someone's "to do" pile and forgotton about!
Any help/advice gratefully received.
ThanksTrying to earn some extra cash, just in case :undecided0 -
I have just done 2 brochure drops, the first I got 2 good orders from and second I got nothing. I'm only delivering 30 brochures at a time so I am going to continue, I guess you have just got to get the right houses.
Has anyone else had much success with this?GC 2015: Aug £272.21 /£300 Sept £112.41 /£300

Hi there,
Have written to schools although not for fete (have just done a fundraiser for one using catalogues which was successful - 20 orders!). I can forward you the letter if you like, it's not brilliant but might give you an idea of how to do it better! If you can PM me that would be great (no idea how to do this myself!)0 -
Hi all
Hope everyone's doing ok and had good bank holiday weekend - weather here was great but pouring with rain today, great start for half term ! Haven't posted for a while but the thread been so quiet thought I better contribute something if only a quick hello.
Good news is that I did a fundraiser - coffee morning - on Saturday and took £98 in 2 hours! Was really pleased as it was only round the corner from me and I even took the children so no expenses incurred. Then yesterday a friend come over with some of her family for a quick coffee before we all went out and my friends sister bought £20 worth of cards!
Just hope my successful sales continue!0 -
Yay, well done Sunshine Girl! £98 is pretty good going.
I did 3 toddler groups over the last month, the first one was a bit rubbish, but the second two did over £100 in sales and orders, so I was pretty chuffed with that. From now on, I'm going to try to book events on consecutive days in order to save on delivery charges but still get everyone's order to them within a week.
And thanks to skeeter for the bank transfer tip :T . Since you posted that I've had a customer pay using this method and it's very painless indeed.I like cooking with wine......sometimes I even put it in the food!0 -
Hi guys,
I've not posted on here since we swapped threads so thought it was about time I should!! I'm trying to do a bit more Phoenix stuff now (after having a few months break) but am still mainly doing brochure drops as I generally work weekends so stalls etc is difficult. Picked up a 20 brochure drop today resulting in one order and 11 lost brochures. Find it a bit frustrating but I guess if I keep trying something positive will happen eventually!! Dropped another 25 to pick up at the weekend so will see how that goes.
I also find that big posher houses are not profitable so am now trying smaller terraces and hoping these will be better.
Somebody mentioned writing to schools etc. I was thinking of doing this in my area but wasn't really sure what to put so any ideas would be great. Do any of you write to any other types of businesses?
Continued good luck to everyone.Challenge savings 2010-2016 £1564.60:j

hi everyone I am thinking of joining pt, am just waiting for my pack to come through. I am thinking of selling to schools and craft fairs.
Am just wondering how other people get on with these and are the profitable?
Many thanks jo0 -

It's definitely worth putting a reminder slip through for the lost brochures, I did this after half the houses I dropped at forgot to put them out for me and got nearly all back the next day (no orders though -this method of selling just doesn't work for me!)
The Bank holiday may affect things too, a lot of people go away.0 -
Glad everyone is doing well. I have been doing some brochure drops, one which I did ok at and the second I recieved no orders. I previously did Betterware and from doing this I know that it takes time to build up customers, its all about trust. I would recommend you all keep trying.GC 2015: Aug £272.21 /£300 Sept £112.41 /£300
