Orange - have you set up accounts with the likes of 18866/1899/18185? (I assume you have with 1899 as 08081708708 is their access No). Also, have you managed to download the software from Orchid for setting up what they call Cwclient. If you have accessed Cwclient, have you managed to set up the routing tables etc and send those back to Orchid via the www? I assume you are with Telewest or NTL?

Hi, thanks for your help, Yes I've registered with 1899. I can't get the CW cleint to log on. I watched the videos, configured my firewall, rang all the bells and blew all the whistles and 4 hours later it still won't log on. So I thought I would try manual programing via the manual on the orchid site. Unlike the programing manaual for the V2 (which is excelent) the V4 asumes a very high level of knowledge, and is full of jargon, and deosn't give an example of the most basic thing... which is to have one carrier (1899) programed in.

When I first got this V4 I programmed it from the original manual which was a breeze. (I wish I could find it) BTW Has anyone got a .pdf of the previous manual to programe the V4 on thier computer ?

Unfortunatly this new manual (in my humble oipinion) is far too complicated.
and I think it would benefit from being written in the same clear terms as the excelent V2 manual.

If anyone who has succesfully programed the V4 manually can put me right and suggest the correct coding I should use, I'd really appreciate it. I need to enter 0808 1 708 708 as the access code and only need one carrier, no other functions. Thanks

Did you change the IP address?

yep I changed the I.P address, went through it several times but having wasted hours I gave up. I only want to programe one carrier. has anyone else had this problem ?

No I can connect with CW Client fine. Could anyone connect for you, a friend perhaps?

Did the number you dialled when it said "invalid number" contain the full STD code?

I bought 3 diallers recently .I managed to get the first 2 to work after a few problems but I still cant get the third one to work . The prolem with the third one was because orchid twice matched my software to the wrong serial number .On the third attempt they got it right ,but i cant get the dialler to work .
I have tried resetting the dialler with the following codes
**#0000*01536272200*1
**#0000*1*8
**#0000*0**
**#0000*0*7
***12#4567890*3
relpacing the handset after each stage .This worked for the first two diallers but not the third . Can anyone help .The phone line is BT. I cant phone orchid during the day as i am at work .

I had a similar problem recently with a dialler - and I found the sequence of Nos you gave above fixed it straight away! Does your dialler code...the 16 digit one match the one on Cwclient?

it does now .after the third attempt but I still cant get it to work .

It sounds like it may just be a faulty piece of kit! Try and speak to Orchid helpline if you can - they are really helpful.....Good luck!

Do they help you set this up as I am very technophobic, if there is such a word?
