    This week
    1 tues
    1 Weds
    3 Thurs
    3 Fri
    and I bet 3 tomorrow

I would guess I do about 10 a week - what with dusters, and floorcloths and bed changing.
Each person gets their own bath towel for the week (but I have a bath sheet and a hair towel because I cannot abide having dripping wet hair when I am trying to dry) and there are hand towels (for visitors) in the kitchen and bathroom. I do a dedicated towel wash at 60 degs (shurrup - I know) which includes the dishcloth, other wiping cloths, tea towels and any dusters) overnight on E7

Oh and I do a flylady cleaning wash too...very hot water and soda.

Pigpen will scare us half to death when she posts her washcount....

We are a family of 5, 2 adults, 8yo 5yo and a 20mth old and some days I do 3 loads, somedays just the one, but my basket is always full, as soon as it goes down, more washing arrives from upstairs. so about 10-12 a week. bedding from 4 beds, socks and pants from all of us in one week is a load full alone. Uniforms, df's uniform (clean top everyday as he gets really mucky).Towels, pe kits, it all adds up

I always try and get the kids to wear clothes more than once if its still clean, espically uniform but dd sucks her sleeves, so they end up stiff at the end of the day!! Plus all the gluing and painting they do in reception class..

    Ahem..

I once counted.. and got to... 64 loads in one 7 day period!! and I know I missed some off.. but I will do anywhere between 6-20 loads of laundry in one day!!!!!

I have 2 machines so it is easy done..

2 adults, 1 heavy bedwetter, 7 other children.. plus soft furnishings, coats, bedding, towels, trainers etc.

All clothes are worn one day only, pj's only one night (treated as undies as you wear them against your bum all night itching and sweating) School uniform ~ 7 lots a day and P.E kits ~ 7 a week.

Hubby goes running so will sometimes wear 3 changes of clothes a day.. running gear which after a 13 mile run is washed alone!! his work clothes and then his 'going out' stuff.

Towels are used once then washed.. nothing worse than stinky towels.
Tea towels I'll go through 4-5 a day.. not bad considering I have a dishwasher!

  • There are four of us and I do about 10 loads a week. The bedding gets changed weekly and the towels twice a week. Pjs are only worn once, as are shirts, undies and socks. Everything else is as and when. I use a short wash only at 30 and only occasionally have to throw something back in.

I agree with you about the pjs. I know some people wear the same ones all week  School uniform is changed daily here too. I don't know why but DD1 (who is 12) gets far more whiffy than anyone else. Must be hormones or something  I'm sure DS who is nearly 10, will start whiffing soon too - and I already struggle to get him to change his socks daily :eek:

We tend to use a towel once and wash it - there's nothing worse than trying to dry yourself on a wet towel!!

We are a family of four and I would estimate about 14 loads each week!!! Large capacity washer too!!! I always seem to be washing bathmats, bedding etc. My two boys are never able to wear anything twice cos they are mucky little monsters. That's polite version!!

About 14-20 a week at the minute depending how good a week my bed wetters have with a standard washer, family of 4. Not used drier for a little while now as been ok outside/using airers.
One day I might be more organised...........

  • Well I do at least 2 loads a day (2 adults, 3 kids) but this is clearly not enough as I have Ben Washing sitting in the corner! Like Pigpen once something has been worn it goes in for the washing.

We're a family of 5 - 2 adults, 3 children (one a bedwetter - although much less often than before!)

I do at least one load per day, frequently 2 and at the weekends - the washing machine tends to be on all day!!!! Change the beds weekly (1 king size, 2 single, 1 cot bed) which also includes fleece blankets (they get cold....bless them), change the bath towels 1-2 times per week (each have our own) school uniform, work clothes, coats (my DS2 had a light grey school coat....BAD IDEA!!!!:rotfl: ) DD is at nursery and her clothes are normally dirty when she gets back. The boys do wear their uniform for 2 days (if its not smelly/dirty). Obviously have to wash my DS's quilt, covers, sheets etc if he's wet the bed.
All in all I think I must do around 20+ loads per week:eek: - I know I always seem to be folding/hanging out washing:rolleyes: . Use the drier when I need to, but will hang washing out whenever possible!!!

Right well I have caught up with laundry today so going to count from today for a week, see what I end up doing.....or would it be better to do a few weeks then average it? Nah I'll do a week...see how it goes.
