  • Morning all, sorry to hear so many peeps are sufffering from colds at the moment.
Smokey - it was nice of you to ask after my gammon. Wow it was exciting to come home and smell that my dinner was ready last night! Was enjopyed by my DH and DS but actually I was a bit dissappointed. I have only recently starting to eat a bit of meat after being veggie for 18 years. I was expecting the gammon to have a strong flavour and it didnt really, although the cloves and peppercorns were quite nice. Next time I'd probably chuck the potatos and veg in too.
I am freezing this korning cant's get warm. Work in one of these big open plan offices where half the workers are freezing and the other half keep opening the windows - grhhhh!
    brekkie - cereal and juice
lunch - sandwich, HM banana cake and fruit
tea - spicy bean pasta bake
I have also been onto the bero website and printed off the recipie for rock buns I'm going to make them tongiht for the packed lunches (my mum used to make them years ago, they're yummy!

Quite an exciting day in our house today - we finally became debt free (apart from our mortgage). We've never been debt free as a family - both had some before we met then it just kind of spiralled so a big thank you to everyone on here whos helped motivate us!
DW, WM, TD and SC all on, upstairs done - just downstairs to go - then think we'll stick a movie on the telly and chill

Hello everyone, and special hello to anyone who is new (well newer than me  ).

Congratulations on becoming debt free Froggergirl!!! :j

Phew just spent the last couple of hours catching up with Sundays and yesterdays threads, did start reading them last night but then DH invited me to share a bath... :kisses3: no competition really..and besides it would be rude to say no. ;)

Things are interesting in the mossy household today...house looks like a cross between an MOD bomb testing site and toysrus.

Munch still has this rotten cold and has been really miserable this morning although she has perked up in the last 15 minutes and is now filling toy stacking pots with colour chalks lol..bless.....oops she's now rolling them all over DH's sofa. :o

Need to put (newly borrowed) BM on as I haven't brought any bread so really do need to get on with it and make some, DH cleaned it out last night while I made tea. DW needs to be filled and put on and 2 x washing needs to be dried, weather is undecided so I'm not sure what to do yet. Was meant to go into town today and drop something off for my mum but due to munch being rough decided against it...will have to do it tomorrow and hope that I'm feeling okay (I'm now coming down with cold), lets hope I can find a parking space nearby.

House well it all needs to be tidied might get BM on and then run a bath then tackle house. I sold all the items I had put on ebay so pleased with my first effort (11 items in all) managed to make about £40 ish but won't know until get all money in and confirm finally charges/postage...still thats money towards holiday.

DH has confirmed with friends that he is going to Uganda in July to help a charity with there IT hardware so we need to find £800 for the plane tickets  can't describe how scary that is but if the big guy wants him to go then I'm sure the money will turn up. :D :A

On the IT front I managed to temporarily fix our server (yes we have a server in our house under the stairs ) yesterday and this morning...the joys of being married to a techie....had to go into the bios and set up the hard drive as it kept crashing and then forgetting the hard drive when it restarted and so wouldn't start up..which meant no internet or email!!!! hence why I managed to work out how to make it work with the help of lots of praying. :D

Car is fixed it ended up costing around £300 and I need to get four new tyres tomorrow so that will be over £500 spent in one week.

Well I think thats it for now...sorry its so long...right need to find bread recipe and then get on with some housework.

Take care everyone, have a lovely day!
Saving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!

  • Morning all :)

    Well done to Froggergirl btw!

I'm feeling more positive today, just coming on here yesterday and reading through posts i'd missed has made me determined to get back on track asap with money and the housework etc.

Yeah! my boyf is back from holiday today, hes been gone for a week and i've missed him so much, i didn't think i would to be honest but it got to about Thurs last week and i was like 'sob sob, when is he coming back?!' I guess thats the 'honeymoon period' kicking in, in a few months i'll be glad to get him out from under my feet lol. Anyway, we're meeting up this afternoon for dinner and to go shopping cos he isn't back at work until tomorrow. My Mam is having Leah for me so i can relax and be 'Kate' for the day instead of 'Muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm' lol

No meals to sort out today really, DD had cereal and a banana for breakfast, i had 2 cups of tea. My mam is sorting out dinner and tea for her and i'll be eating out - bliss! no washing up!

Have a good day all :)

  • :j :j :j Well done Froggergirl :T :T

Been baking this am for school.Think I'll make some choc chip muffins for my lot later.I really could do with some more muffin tins.

Have most of a roast chicken left from Sunday.I'm going to make chicken soup with barley and veg for supper with some hm bread.I always feel slightly guilty for serving soup as a main meal, like it's not enough. But with the amount of meat left and all the veg it should be a real ribsticker and there'll be plenty of leftovers.

After reading the washing pillows thread,I've come to the conclusion that our bedding is decidedly manky, esp.my ds1+2's.So tomorrow I'm going to blow the child benefit on 4 new pillows each child(12 pillows!) and a new duvet each for sons.DD has already got 2 owing to bedwetting  bless her.
I shall get sons' old duvets dry-cleaned,and remember to turn their mattresses too(hate doing that-bunks).

    Hi Everyone :hello:
Only getting a chance to get on PC now so apologies I havent read through all of this thread. A short morning in work today as my father was ill so had to do a juggling act with kids (who are on half term and who my dad was going to be looking after today). OH came home from work around 930 (think he had only arrived when i rang in a panic) and I left work at 12 and collected the kids allowing him to go back, its such a juggle having kids isn't it !
He has hung out washing, put another load on and cleaned the bathroom whilst he was home  All that without being asked, bless him. Must be after something :rotfl:
B: only had time for a cuppa and a banana because I was stressing about kids
L: About to have HM leek and potato soup and a slice of wholemeal bread
D: Something pasta-y - with tuna I think. Will make it up as I go along - making a batch of HM Macaroni cheese for the kids as this is their favourite

OMG - I forgot - my Be-Ro recipe Cook book arrived today, how exciting - Think i will have a look through it while eating my soup - I asked OH was there any post and he say nah - just some old recipe book!!!

Well, my tummy is rumbling so am off for some grub. Will run hoover over the place and if I can get motivated I will clean windows - DD has found her favourite past time at the minute to be "drawing" on her windows when they are steamed up  Then I am going to plant some mini daffodil plants that I bought yday - in pots outside my front door. Its nice to see the start of spring. DD brought me in a purple crocus bud claiming that our garden was magic and we were growing purple buttercups :rotfl:
Anyway, have a good day everyone
  • Lordy lord, but I'm tired!! Just got back from doing a weekly shop at Sainsbury's. Most unusual for us to shop there - known as "posh shopping" in our house! :D However, they'd tempted me back with vouchers for £5 off a £50 shop, so with much trepidation we decided to give it a go and see how close to the budget of £55 we could get.

Well, it could have been worse. Between multibuys, yellow sticker reductions and BOGOF's, we saved £8.11. Add the £5 voucher and that's £13.11. DH included an X-Box magazine at £5.99 but paid me for it with his "pocket money". ;) So that brought the bill down by a total of £29.10. The final bill was £62.43 - and we bought ingredients for nine meals as well as all the rest of the essentials. Bear in mind that we then earned Nectar points and I don't think we did too badly. Either way, the freezer is bursting, the fridge is stuffed and the trolls are still living safely under the pasta mountain in the larder cupbard. :rotfl:

We had forgotten how long it takes to get around Sainsbury's. All that after a terrible night largely thanks to trying out a new pillow - one of four given to us by MIL. Think "sleeping on a breezeblock" and you'd be close. Unfortunately, my dearly beloved pillow had been through the washing machine and was steaming gently on the radiator, so I didn't have any alternative. :( Ended up snoozing in my armchair from 1.30 until 6.30am. Not very satisfactory at all. I shall be having a pillow reshuffle, later on, and reclaiming my lovely squishy pillow for tonight.

Too bushed to think OS much today, well beyond the meal planning etc etc that goes along with shopping.

    B : Porridge
L : Defrosted some leftover beef stew
    D : Sausages, mash, veg & gravy.

Here I go, staggering into the kitchen to do the dishes. Wonder if I can reach the basin whilst sitting on the kitchen chair???? :rotfl:
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:

  • :hello: Afternoon

Feeling pleased with myself today as have got a lot done.

2 x washing loads, DW emptied, bottom of house and stairs hoovered and floors washed. Bathrooms cleaned. Drawer from washing machine cleaned and washing machine doing cycle emply with some soda crystals in. Hob cleaned -oven will be done later in week.

Lamb stew in SC and hm bread cooling on rack. Going to pop out to Netto's in a minute as I like their cooked ham. Then tonight will reward myself by watching Miss Marple taped from Sun and Cold Case from last week.

Its a loverly feeling when you have achieved a good amount and I always enjoy relaxing so much more when Ive had a productive day.

Enjoy the rest of your day

2 washloads done and dried. DW emptied. Toilet cleaned. OH swept and moped floors downstairs. Banking up to date. Moved excess money from Febs grocery challenge to ING account (£100). Beds made. Kitchen cleaned and sides buffed up. Fridge cleaned out.

Nieces Barbie scooter came today for her birthday in August. It has flashing lights on it and found a voucher on here and got it for £12 inc postage:j cheapest elsewhere about £30 + postage, so am very pleased.

OH's going to make some fork biccies whilst oven is on for tea later for DD;s lunch and for us to snack on-just like shortbread and delish!

Watched Prison break episode 6 and was brilliant. OH downloading the rest of this season ATM, so not sure when that will be done, but is an excellent series.

Not much else done. Im on the sofa with quilt and pillows. It was snowing here earlier and is so cold.

Got to go. Take care all.
