Kiwichick, your day sounded like bliss,I'm very jealous :p:)

Baking day here,I've got my school tuck shop bake to do - choconana muffins and sunflower seed flapjacks.I might make something for my kids too if they're lucky ;)

First I think I'll pop over to Bedstyle and check out the prices of pillows and duvets as my sons' bedding is getting seriously manky :o

OMG it's getting late and I need to do packed lunches, breakfast, get sons out of bed, make sure dd gets dressed and do her hair!!

    Catch you all later,bye

    Morning all,

Kiwi, it sounds like you had a great day!

PP - I bet you're looking forward to that holiday, can you fit me in your suitcase?

I actually got up at 6.30 this morning but I have been making beds and putting clean laundry away. Now I am sat here because DD is having a strop about getting dressed and I have to watch over her like a hawk. I'll start again when she is ready for school and sat down watching her telly.

It's supposed to rain here today but I can't see any signs of it yet, hopefully if it holds out until later this morning I can get my raspberry canes moved and then work indoors when the rain starts.

Today I am going to definitely move DD's desk into her bedroom, get at least one load of washing washed and dried, cook something yum for tea and get the downstairs hoovered and the dining room curtain back up.

    Hiya everyone :hello:

kiwi - sending jealous vibes your way :rotfl:

PP - lucky you. I'd love to have a holiday to look forward to, but we'll just have to see what the summer brings.

Off to mum's today, with Mr TM and the meeces dispatched into her garden to collect leaves and generally tidy up whilst I do inside etc. Bm has just finished so house smelling lovely. Need to put WM on before we go (not a rush job - Mr TM is sleeping soundly)

I had a fanatastic sleep last night - about time too! Head hit the pillow about 11 and that was me gone until DS2 came in at 6.45. It was Mr TM's turn to get up with them, but as I felt great, I've done the breakfasts. I've had my porridge with sultanas, linseeds and lychees (:D) - ran out of prunes. I'm going to make a big fruit salad in a bit which will include lychees so that's why. It was quite nice actually. I've got a starfruit to try as well - never had one before

My house could do with a good going over, but as it's half term, not too bothered. I vac'd downstairs yesterday, but within 30 mins you'd never have known - bits of cereal and fluff. Where do small boys get all this stuff?

I'm going to have to find someone to show me how to crochet. Got to grips with the stitches, but I can't work out the turning chain ie how to stitch it all in  I've got 2 books and loads of web sites, but I'm a 'watcher' of practical things, so I'll find a class or something. I'd really like to learn it properly or I'll give up before I get anywhere.

Right, off for another cuppa and a surf whilst the meeces are quiet (shhhh - don't speak too loudly or they'll hear :D)

    Have a good day :)

  • morning.

I am sooooo angry with my dh.

I earn my money from work & dh tops me up. I got a bonus this month, so dh is going to reduce what he gives me. What on earth is the point in me working hard if I don't see the benefit.

BTW he will get a huge bonus in April (we are talking thousands, perhaps about 5 grand this year) & I won't see a penny.

The onther day he was going on about how much better off he is since I am going out to work.

Sorry for ranting, thank you for reading.

Lisa -my ex used to recieve huge bonuses too. I only found out about them when I met a collegue of his out Christmas shopping. I scrimped and he squandered -just didn't seem just. Anyway rant over.

PP -lovely news about the caravan. I hope you get great weather. Caravan holidays can be so relaxing.

I am still loving being off and doing an os week.
This morning I need to iron, clean upstairs, tidy kitchen, amke a cake for friend visiting.

DD in bed sick and run out of things to read -so will go down to local charity shop and have a look for something. We always seem to forget to take back library books on time and the fine costs more than the 20p books from the shop. When we have read them we atke them back for someone else to enjoy.

TM,have you tried googling 'freeform crochet' for inspiration rather than instruction? This stuff is amazing.BTW the turning chain has to be the same height as the stitch in the row you've just completed. If you are following instructions from US sites or books be aware that the stitches have different names ;)

I'm off to work today ands end up being in work last night so no baking done with teh ds/dd yesterday. I'd bee off for a wks holiday from work and usually only work weekend ( what with uni, ds and dd) but got a call at 5.10 last night telling me I should be in work  the manager had changed all the rota without bothering to let me know. Though suppose shouldn't let it bother me as starting new job on thursday, :T.

WM on and will do the other cleaning after diner tonight.

    Breakfast:ceral
Lunch: Staff meal ( not health)
Dinner: The Lasagne, that we didn't get to eat last night

    Morning all

Bad night, DH has man flu, I've been reinfected with the cold I had 2 weeks ago! I think we saw every hour on the clock, really didn't want to get up this morning.

No little ones during the day today, just school run extras.....DH dropped them all straight to school for me though as it started snowing about 20 mins ago - everywhere has a nice white dusting.....freeeeezing cold too...we've got wintery showers all day according to the radio.

BM needs to go on in a bit, will do some baking too, WM is on, will be put on airers later. I'm off to have a long hot bath and spend the rest of the day infront of the telly with my crocheting.

    Brekkie - Toast/cereal
Lunch - Wraps and left over quiche
Tea - HM Chicken and Veg soup with fresh rolls

Hope you all have a good one.....

TM.....when you get to the end of a row, turn your work around, do the required amount of chain stitches (to form the height of your first stitch) and then carry on as normal. The chain is basically your first stitch in each row, if you're doing a double crochet, 3 times into each place, then your first double on a new row will be made of a chain of 3, followed by 2 double crochets.......does that help????? (probably not)
