'morning kiwichick, morning everyone :hello:
Sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday Kiwichick:D
Just off to do my exercises ... but I've had a lovely hour reading through the threads. Porridge for breakfast and I'll have a look in the freezer to see what I can defrost for tonight - I'll probably do pork with a honey and mustard glaze.
Have a lovely OS day everyoneEnjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Morning everyone!
It's a real frosty one here in N.Ireland - we have been having lovely crisp and sunny days lately. Fingers Xed that they continue until at least Saturday as a colleague is getting married that day.
It's another day and another dollar, just work as normal today. I really hope they have fixed the heating - we were all sat there frozen yesterday. A couple of colleagues often wear gloves in the office as it never gets properly warm (what century is this!?) but without the heating it's unbearable. I have a rather thick layer of natural insulation so perhaps I don't suffer quite as much as the rest of them - I am probably acclimatised too as my house isn't generally very warm. But yesterday it was like I had my feet in a bowl of cold water. Today is definitely a day for wearing thick socks and boots.
Last night I went to see Brokeback Mountain. It was very good, I enjoyed it a lot, though IMO it's not quite one of those unforgettable, must see again type films.
Old Style today will hopefully consist of doing quite a bit of housework this evening. My weekend was exceptionally lazy, and I didn't accomplish very much. I want to tackle a couple of window pot things as well as they are looking very manky indeed.
Happy Tuesday everyone, see you all later.

Morning
Slept well last night:j just feeling really drained, so wont be doing much today either. Im up the hospital the next 3 days, so want to take it easy at home today and chill.
WM on and hopefully be hung outside-failing that airer. DW half empty. Toilet cleaned. Floors need sweeping and a quick mop with me new Vileda:D but OH hopefully will do that for me. Bed is airing ATM and will be made when i go up for a bath about half seven. House is generally clean and tidy still, so nothing else much to do here.
Had confirmation last night, that we have been offered a weeks holiday the 1st week of 6 weeks school holidays to somerset in a disabled persons caravan. Its charity run and was sorted through my OT & SW. Its a 2 bed caravan with wheelchair acess, have to bring our own bedding and pillows and thats it really. Theres a full size cooker, fridge/freezer-so we can take our own food etc which will be great and will be able to cook OK in it! Im so happy and although it will take about 4hrs to get there, it will be great.
Breakie:Scrambled Egg with toast
Lunch:Left over roast dinner
Dinner:Spag Bol with parmasan cheese
Have to go. Hope everyone is well and hugs to all who need them.

Thx applemint, I had a lovely time. I got to the spa at 8.20am and was the only one there until around 9.45ish. I was lounging around in a sun lounger by the pool, taking dips in the jaquzzi (sp?), steam room, sauna (didnt like that one much) and reading trashy tabloid mags - GREAT!!! I actually fell asleep on the lounger at one stage, hope I didnt snore!
I had some nice treatments too, this was my first time at one of these places so I wasnt too sure what to expect. I had a pedicure (on reccommendation of a friend but actually I think it was a complete waste of time and money) a luxury facial (delish),and eyebrow wax (ouch), and a full body detox massage. It was so lovely and indulgent and I NEVER get to do things for me. I enjoyed it so much that any PMS I manage to save over the course of the next year will go in a spa account just for me, something to work towards.
I did get filled with dread/apprehension every time I thought about dh and the kids though. Had visions of getting home to find them all still in jim jams! As it happens they were in jim jams but nice fresh ones. Not only that but he had been a busy boy, the house was clean, hoovered, laundry on airer, washing up done, kids fed........................I very nearly passed out with the shock of it all. Now that I know he can do it though.....................well the possibilities are endless arent they.
A bit more packing to do today, and will make something scrummy for tera, HOLsales thread on mac & cheese has inspired me, its my most fave comfort food ever.
Back later,

Well today its wet, windy & cold, so any washing will be put on the airer.
Quite a bit of admin to do today as its coming up to the end of our month and I can never seem to get motivated for this job & more often than not the books don't balance as O/H as mislaid a receipt or two.

Morning all
Off to work in a minute but I thought I'd catch up with this thread whilst I eat my yummy cinnamon & raisin porridge. I've made tuna salad to take to work for lunch too - how healthy am I?
Your day sounds fabulous Kiwi. I've only done this once too, it was a treat bought by friends for a VERY big birthday a couple of years ago & I loved it. We should all have some ME time occasionally, it's not selfish it's just recharging the batteries so we can look after everyone else better for the rest of the time. (Are you convinced? I'm doing my best here).
Hope you have a good holiday PP - sounds like that's just what you need.
Well - better scoot. Have a great day everyone.

Up early this morning,, did not sleep last night, it was 3.30 and I was still awake so have had about 3 hours, oh well.....
Off to my friends a little later, expect there will be traffic problems on the road, the last few weeks there have been huge holdups, they are altering a roundabout right bang slap in the middle of a very busy commuter route, hey ho.......
Right off for my bran flakes and muslie, tesco and the library this afternoon, cheese pie for supper tonight.

KC - Wonderful! I'm so glad you had an excellent time and that you came home to a fairly organised household, does he know what he's started though!
PP - That's good news about the hols, something positive to look forward to
SO - brrr, sounds like you need to take a hot water bottle with you. Fingers crossed the heating is finished!
AM - Honey & mustard glazed pork sounds "de-lish-us"
SOMO1 - Hope you feel better soon.
Mornin' all,
Well, yesterday when I picked dd up from nursery, I had a manic couple of hours and got loads cleaned that I don't normally.... and loads of washing dried outside! I've currently got the nappies hung on an airer, but hoping that I will be able to transfer them outside later.
Last night, I had a long soak in the bath, and spent time on me drying and straightening my hair (I know this doesn't sound much, but normally I let it dry by itself and don't take the time for myself!), did myself a mini-pedicure, retired to bed in my freshly cleaned bedroom and listened to my "soothing" music, sleep by 11 .... briefly awoke at 01:00 by dd, settled by 01:35.
I started to tackle the filing cabinet on Sunday and realisd I needed some bits 'n' pieces to finish my organising ... so I've placed a stationery order, that should be delivered today if DD and I are in.
My plan for today - ironing / finish filing cabinet / shredding  / going out with DD ...
B - Cereal
L - Dunno, depends on where we are
