As mentioned before some might be same name, different person! I'm sure TOL would check home addresses etc..!
Because clearly tastelondon are reading this forum...and the email they've just sent said its the final list of winners....and cos all the names that look like duplicates are very common names eh???? :huh:0 -
Still some possible dupes I think:
Adam Cable
Adam Westwood
Ajay Karwal
Alastair Ross
Andrew Ward
Chris Carey
Lea Lau
louis coiffait
Natalie Kelly
Nicola Kleynhans
Sarah Smith
Sarah White
simon taylor
Steve Baker
JON BECKETT....entered also as JONATHAN BECKETT (I'd lay money on this being the same person!)
JILL SYMES.....3 entries....(1) Jill Symes, (2), Jillian C Symes, (3) Symes J C
JAIME DAVIES....possibly duped as JAMES DAVIES (both entries are completely in lower case)
I see where you're coming from with this, however if the names you have listed as possible dupes used different postal and/or e-mail addresses (which is likely) there's not much TOL can do. If the dupes now amount to the total then it's not bad for a list of 2000 names.0 -

Yes if they're reading this - they would have seen your post 3 times...
I'm sure they're competent enough to check this out.
I think we should draw the line in the sand now - leave it to them & move on.
Well done all who won, another win for MSE

Well, they're not that competent if they've just announced the final list, and there is still a bunch of duplicates on it.0

Thanks to the OP who spotted this (or was it Martin? Can't remember). My fiance ended up in one of the 2000, which is great for him as he works in London and already pays for his commute so anything to keep his costs down is a bonus!
And to all you cynics I can verify he is not a 'dupe' as he is - truthfully - the only person in the world with his name. There are only about 10 people in the UK with the same surname so pretty difficult to get mixed up or make up a similar name.

Probably best to let it go, it's not worth worrying about. As I said, impossible to remedy if different postal and e-mail addresses used on each application.0 -
...or in Jill Symes case...3 different variations of her name!
Maybe tastelondon can write to those that may have received duplicates and appeal to their better nature to fess up. Afterall, its hardly fair that someone misses out because someone is a little greedy!
It does not affect me, as I think I was way down the list...but for someone who is currently around no. 2001 - 2010, I'd be a bit miffed!0 -
Not on the list! Gutted! And I got through before one of my friends (a winner) did!
Ah well, this is all reminscent of another episode of online time-wasting in search of free booty: anyone remember the ebay Xmas treasure hunt a few years back?
The complaints on that one put this thread to shame!
@the winners: enjoy yourselves!0 -
Email received from tastelondon:
"Below is a link to the final winners list, the first 2000 applicants."
Alas, there are 2017 entries in the list.0 -
Oh gosh.. MSE please can we just close this thread.. agree with hander re complaints, let's just all move on!0
