If you managed to get one, well done. I think most of us in here would be genuinely pleased to see people getting something back for all their effort.

If you didn't, you might well be feeling that Tastelondon have done themselves no favours here. They've given away (if we accept what they say at face value, which some might find difficult in view of the confusion over this 'offer') 2000 memberships. They might charge £70 normally, but any actual cost to Tastelondon is minimal - restaurants are falling over themselves to get customers in, and BOGOF deals are ten a penny, so it's unlikely Tastelondon have to pay restaurants anything for inclusion.

With so many free meal deals around, Tastelondon are probably having difficulty selling something which most people can effectively get for nothing, so the harvesting of several thousand email addresses, telephone numbers and addresses might well have made this a very profitable exercise. Did anyone notice any mention of how your details will be handled in the offer? Is there any mention of data protection anywhere on the website?

This may look like a free offer, but there may be more truth than you think in the old phrase 'no such thing as a free lunch'.

i dont think they had any other intentions than getting people intrested in the card its called promotion my freind everybody that entered i believe after the 2000 12 month winners is being offered a months free so they can see what its like and maybe in the future apply for the 12 month card. its just like tescos giving a 70 pounds voucher to be used in store to the first 2000 and a 29 pound voucer for the remaining what they hope to gain is potential customers as for what you call confusion im not sure thyre was any all that happened was the site was stormed at 2pm by lots of people and perhaps people like us are to balme rather than the company its self or even mse from the figures it looks like thyre was more than
10,000 applicants so the site would buckle what we have to do now is be happy for those that won and get back on with our day to day lives

I just want to say I'm one of the winners and Matt at Tastelondon has been very polite and helpful over email.

I was fully prepared for this... I had my laptop and computer running. I had Internet Explorer and Firefox open on the web page for both computers. I also installed a Firefox extension called 'Autofill' so I just had to click a button for the entire form to be filled in.

They're getting there, but there's still a few dupes on there!

Yes, I noticed that too... however, you do need to bear in mind there are people with the same name in this big country of ours!! :rotfl: They're probably trawling through to check street addresses, email addresses etc... for dupes first...

The free trial that everyone's talking about can be found at:
    www.tastelondon.co.uk/metrotrial
I got mine last week. Went to Almeida in Islington on Thurs and saved £30. Now booked in at St Germain for lunch on Friday in the City.

So far so good, will report back near the end of the trial
    Hello all,

Is this free trial (via Metro) for a month or a week and anyone know how long this offer is open for?
Reason I ask - I am visiting London with my partner 1 June - 3 June and think this would be a great way to keep costs down. Obviously, I dont need the free trial till then - so the ones they are giving away on their own website are of no use to me.

I have clicked on the link, but there are no terms and conditions for this free trial...

by the way - I really fancy visiting Dollar Grills & Martinis near Farringdon Tube (which is featured in taste london) anyone been? Vegas themed apparently!! ;)
    Thanks,Steff

Below is a link to the final winners list, the first 2000 applicants.

Many thanks to all that entered and congratulations to the winners. The give-away was unbelievably popular so hats off to all that persevered and got through the server downtime to enter their details in the end.

If your name is not on the list, and you managed to enter your details don't despair, a month's membership will be with you shortly.

Whether for one month or one year, we hope you all thoroughly enjoy being part of the tastelondon diners club and save a small fortune in the process!
