Seen the sale that starts this week and am determined to get a night this time!
Fancy visiting Cheshire Oaks outlet near Chester so wondered about a travelodge near there. Ideally somewhere with parking (if possible free) but we would like to have somewhere we can go for drinks/food in the evening. If there was another town nearby with a travelodge this could be an option.
Other option that I would love is Scarborough but this doesn't appear to have any parking at all - has anyone been to this one and can comment on parking?

Gratton travelodge just outside Hereford, on the Ross road is quite nice if you are in the area. It's not been built long so it's nice and clean.0

Parking at Scarborough is a bit tricky! There are metered bays outside but usually full. The NCB car-park nearby is handy but expensive. I found the best bet to be either:
1. Long-term stay above "Wilkinsons" - close-by but difficult to find with the one-way system.
or
2. Park outside the restriction area and walk or use the bus to get in.
You don't need a car in Scarborough."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

There is a travellodge in Eastham just of the motorway, and really easy to get to cheshire oaks from there, no pub attached but plenty of places to eat not far.
There is also a travel lodge in Heswall, with a pub attached, which serves nice food, and again not far to chesire oaks.
Have fun.0 -

We got the rooms in the last sale and will endeavour to book a few days in the upcoming sale as well. We asked (nicely, of course) for a bit of a sea view and the staff were lovely to find one - the trade off was a room with an odd-ish lay out and scant storage. I saw the room before we checked in and decided the trade was worth it. As with all the TLs in converted older buildings sometimes keeping a bit of the building's character means not so much of the newer conveniences. This room was clean and warm (important due to the quick return of sleet and snow during mid-February!) and the staff were friendly, pleasant and eager to help in any way possible.
Others have posted comments about parking and as all have mentioned, Scarborough is inconvenient and expensive if use of an auto is required. It seems if you are dedicated to or absolutely require your car to hand, Scarborough may not be your best choice.
I'll just use the train next time and local busses - If you can explore Scarborough afoot - the busses are good, and a car is not needed unless you plan to travel outside the town itself.0 -
Have just come back from a night in York, the York tadcaster was dirty, disgusting and truely awful, so much so they gave us our money back, it wasn't cheap either, £38.50, have stayed in other travelodges with no complaints at all.
Have already got more booked, any good advice or reviews on the following ones:
Travelodge Alfreton, Derbyshire, (going to chatsworth house)
Travelodge Birmingham Frankley (black country museum)
Travelodge Binley (visting legoland)
Travelodge Caernarfon (for the castle)
Travelodge Coventry Binley (for Warwick castle)
Travelodge Covent Garden (for London)
Have got some of these for £10 a night, others for £19.00 inc the london one.
Only really want a base as taking the children exploring, and its cheaper then a campsite, but really want it clean and somewhere to get breakfast/dinner.0 -

The best location in London! Get off at Holborn station rather than CG as Holborn is slightly closer and you avoid the delays at CG during peak times.
Lots and lots of pubs and cafes around (I like the Intrepid Fox which is only only 100yards away, but the Shakespeare next to Holborn Station is a Wetherspoons with cheapish prices) but with kids you are probably as well to have breakfast in the TL as kids eat free and it is a help yourself affair."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
