  • I heard salt water helps but have never tried myself , just always use washing powder and that does the trick on its own .

Have you tried neat stardrops and a toothbrush? What is the stain on?

If it's on something that you can wash, try this. I recently removed an old blood stain from a blouse with Vanish In-wash Liquid. Measure out the amount you use for a wash, pour some of it directly onto the stain, treating both sides of the material if it's thick and leave for five minutes or so. It fizzes and you can see the stain going! Wash as usual, adding the rest of the liquid into the machine. It took three washes because the stain was old but worth doing. I just added the blouse in with a wash whenever I was doing one so it wasn't any trouble.

Wash it out in cold water first, adding heat cooks the protein and makes it harder to remove.

I'd go over to the old style board, though. They'll know for sure (will probably involve stardrops!!:p)

Let is soak in cold salted water, that should help. Not sure how well on dried blood but on fresh blood stains it takes it out while you watch!

Nappisan :) You can buy it in the baby section in the supermarket :) Let it soak in cold water and a dollop of Nappisan for a few hours and then stick in a cool wash :)

  • You don't need anything special. Soak it in cold water overnight then rub some washing up liquid into it and it should wash out. If you've washed it hot already you'll have trouble, as said above you "cook" it into the fabric.

  • I scrub it off under cold running water and never had a stain I can't shift. Like someone said, if you've washed it hot already you're possibly done for, but if not, no matter how old the stain cold water (and a bit of hand soap) should get it out without hurting your skin.
