Sorry for not reAding everyone's posts - I have a weird thing - my balllance has gone, it's horrid. managed tolist a lot on ebay despite glitches onthe site that drove me mental - took all weekend. I nearly fall over when I stand up...No I haven't been drinking.
fanny! Willow out on the feeder tree, but still torrential rain. There's been land slides & School kiddies from Loch Carron are having to go either 140 mile diversion or by train to school.

It's blooming mild though....and still getting gales too..........

You don't think you have an inner ear infection do you? They often make your balance go caput. :(
If so, you need to see the doc, choille.

Yes, choille. You need to see someone now.
If you can't see your GP then contact NHS 24 on 08454 24 24 24 (I think that's the Scottish equivalent of our Direct)

    I think it's a bug thing - horrid.

When you were young & had too much to drink ....like a pint of shady & you got the whirly pits, the spinning thing..that's it.

I like the strategy. I'm still unsure how ggod I am going to be at killing animals I've lived with. My rational self says it's better than buying them dead from a source where I don't know how they've been raised (in all likelihood, worse than I will), my irrational self struggles with the idea of killing something for my own convenience. I was veggie/vegan for 15 years and am very on the fence about the whole meat eating issue, and full of contradiction in my practice!

Oh god rozee, trust me I understand! I was veggie for 9 years when I was younger. When I started farming I was very strict about how they live and how they die - the ultimate responsibility for a meat eater imo.

I have never actually killed any of birds - I am lucky enough to have my brother, partner and Dad all living here to and men seem to be built differently for death. I catch my birds, carry them up to the shed keeping them as calm as possible. I hold them upside down whilst one of the men folk use a humane killer (which breaks their neck and kills them instantly). They then take the bird from me and hold her upside down till she stops flapping.

I then gut and pluck or skin. It's not pleasant, and I do still lose the plot occasionally but I choose to grow them and eat meat and however you look at it, it would criminal to kill an animal and bury it and then go to Tesc0 and buy one.

That said, I am culling my ducks this weekend massively. I adore my drake sooo much that sadly they are all totally inbred now. He will be kept as a pet with 2 of his daughters/wives (I do live in Cornwall :o ) and left to become an old man! In reality, I should change the drake every year to keep the blood lines clear. Hey ho, I'm getting there :o

PS I gave my best mate a 'happy duck pie' for Xmas, she froze it and had it for tea tonight. She called about an hour ago saying it was by far the best pie she's ever had

Choille, I agree with the others: get a medical opinion, even if only down the phone in the first instance....and even if you think its 'just' a bug. You know it makes sense! :D

    Rozee, try Tinypic here: http://tinypic.com/
