evening all......
what a strange weather we are having ! mild as mild all day,had windows open... then sure as eggs at 3pm it goes chilly and by 5pm its bl**dy cold !!??
i went to the hoss's today to put out hay for them all. they rolled in it,! even old barney whos rugged up ? then they went off back to the bottom fields so obviously plenty of reasonable grass for them still... barney and rubes are still bucket fed tho. barney goes so thin every winter, he just doesnt hold his weight...mind you hes a minimum 29 yrs old now. was told he was 22, 7 years ago so allowing for poetic liscense definately a minimum.......
for those in the welsh quarter... what is the average price per acre for agricultural land / horse grazing / and potential building permission land ??
here it averages £10,000 for horses, £7 g for a agri tie, and name your price for the last with PP.....
large houses here that were a £M are now about £850g -£900g. Johnny Depp has just bought a "plot" up the road from me along the shore [3miles] going for planning now to replace whats there. hes joining some other celebs up there but i cant think who they are ! ones a brill gutarist in a band and singer lives there too and its annoying me cos i cant think of the bl**dy name..... older band ?? singer now with an american band ...philladelphia ****** something i think... thats gonna bug me now !!0 -

Hey jd is a neighbour here too.....he has a restaurant nearby that's really good, my favourite in e area, very relaxed and good.
Weather here much like yours.
I'm so tired I'm struggling to make sentences today.:(
Dogs driving me crazy, big dog is walking around with her phantom puppy (who we're calling pink piggy and it's a boy) I can't wait for her to be over the worst so I can get her spayed. She's also being horrid to dog dog.
Some creature is cut, because I found blood on the sofa and my bed, but I can't find any damage on anyone. I'm beginning to wonder if it's me. I don't know how I'll get the blood of the sofa. I noticed its looking grubby too so might try hiring a steam cleaner.

Johnny d is going to be your neighbour:eek: corrrrrrrr think i be nipping round to borrow a cup of sugar every two minutes:D
but i only like him if was dressed up as captain jack sparrow:cool::p
Janie yes i still have a motley crew of ducks mainly all cross=breds.:p..
remember the time you and another ssc forum member sent me eggs, and the other person's eggs hatched, ( had 2, one died not long after hatching) well we still have him...big fat white blob that he is...:rotfl:
With the pigs i have been told if i am going to have them for the freezer and to sell the meat on etc to go for white pigs something to do with the crackling etc...
I like the look of the middle white
http://www.britishpigs.org.uk/breed_mw.htm
before you get any more pigs might be worth talking to a few butchers etc in your area to see if they would buy meat off you, how much they would pay perkg, and if they would pay a premium price for certain breeds..
I know a local pig breeder has been advertising in a local community mag to try and sell direct to the public so would get a far better price...
another thought is to grow herbs and see if the butchers will buy big bunches from you....rosemary etc...
I must admit i could never grow that here, but in my mil garden to grows brilliantly... too good....lol....Work to live= not live to work0 -

The boundary/fencing thing again.
The boundary is pretty well defined - except... someone's planted trees to delineate the path and the land but the trees have gone an grown and now they are a)causing the boundary to expand? and (b) tricky to get a fence post in as they have big roots (maybe I'll take a pic and post if)
If we hammer a post into the roots are we likely to damage the tree?
Ho hum. The realities of owning a smallholding...0
