It's been wet here for a few days and my OH went up to check on our stream, which is now considerably wider. Can't wait to be living there. Every chance we get we have to do a detour and have a little walk on our turf0

Bit knackered atm. Went down to Carmarthen for a preview and enjoyed Alfie's weather on the M4
Was meant to be an art nouveau stove for sale (thought of LIR, or was that Art Deco?) but didnt see it. Anyhow its back down the M4 tomorrow to bid for a few things, no vintage clothing though, its been a whole load of fun with what we got the other week and they're selling wellGot about 50 items listed atm with some good ones finishing tonight, fingers crossed!
Nearly posted this morning about our dog, but deleted it, she deserves a bit of dignity... blind, infirm and the rest. Know what we should do but.................0 -

yep
There are some folks down the street who has three very large dogs in a small Victorian terrace; at one stage with over a dozen pups in the cellar!
They then made kennels out back which drove the neighbours mad. They were right against the fence on the back street overlooking the allotments and these dogs would bark everytime anyone was on the back street or the very busy allotments. All day every day.
Only a limited amount of exercise for what I would call carriage dogs. I think one was sold on when it savaged a small dog on the park, so they could not even control them. Unless they are in season dogs need exercise; I would not dream of owning one with my work pattern.
Rhiwfield, take care and take care of your lovely. You will know when the time comes. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Its the hardest decision to make. with regret I think last time we left it too late, though becuase of misiagnosis.
rhiwfield by very best wishes to your dog and you.
Rozee, when do you coplete.
alfie, yes, I want some, need to check with dh still, and then call and nip to there (I like that town). I'm still ''on hold'' resting up on the sofa mainly.

Across the years we've lost many animals to old age including, a donkey, pot-bellied pigs, numerous goats & a cat. There have been the odd common right lambs that holidaymakers find & insist on picking up (pretty much signing their death warrant) & the odd loss from congenital deformity or other infant problems. It is always a tough decision when it comes to the end & one which each person has to make for themselves.
I found it much harder to watch an animal suffering when, deep down inside, I sort of knew by gut instinct there'd be no lucky reprieve.
It was blowing a hoolie (is that how it's spelt? I never know) for much of the night & joined by West Country liquid sunshine before noon. Sometimes I wonder if Wuthering Heights was set on the right moor
Hope the toothache is soon sorted, Alfie.
Try not to let Old B*ggerl*gs next door get you down, Dave.0 -

Wow, alfie! That is dark!
We complete officially on 22nd December but I don't want to wait that long. The lawyers can hopefully do their stuff quickly and we can move move move!
Trying to get our head round a "wish list" for the property. We believe there's only one supporting wall downstairs and we'd like to rip out the rest and remodel. I've been researching secondhand kitchens today. One was pretty wild: originally £100K, from a £25M (yes, that's the right alphabetical) house in NW London, 4 years old, now willing to sell for £20K including delivery. This is obviously on the "In your Wildest Dreams Wish List" if we have a win on the premium bonds before we cash them in to pay for the property
What do people think about project managing the improvements? We're keen to do it ourselves to keep the budget under control. The children will have to go into childcare half the day, but this will be less than the cost of a project manager! We've only ever managed single contractor improvements before but we're hoping if we get a good builder, we shouldn't have to use too many different contractors. We'll be getting an architectural technologist to draw up detailed plans. Main refurbs will be dormers front and back, new windows and doors throughout, new floors, new kitchen, new bathroom, possibly conservatory....
There are some real doggy issues on here at the moment. Sorry to hear about your dog, Rhiwfield. The only dog I've ever had was my beloved Tibetan spaniel who had to go to the doggy heaven in the sky when she came down one morning and her back legs had gone through osteoporosis. I'm only now, 20 years on, thinking I might be ready for another loyal canine friend or friends. More decisions! We'll have to be settled first.0 -
