How exciting about the parrot! I agree though birds should not be kept alone in tiny cages but be in a space where they can fly about.

We were supposed to be getting another small furry however two weeks on and we have still not heard anything so it looks unlikely that it is going to happen, however I am delighted with the beloved beasts we already own!

Been planning my borders for next year and I really want snow drop throughout the lawn and alliums for the borders as well as a new hydrenga (sp???). Just wondered if there were any good online winter/spring bulb suppliers that have reasonable costs?

So wanted to get out in the garden today however due to flooding and ongoing storms complete with thunder and lightening I decided to plan instead :)

This reminds me of an obcenely rich family I knew who had two budgies, the most beautiful I have ever seen, who lived mainly in the very expensively furnished drawingroom of a manion and sat mainly upon a small crystal tree. They had a full time maid to clear up their ''guano'' so they could live mainly free.....and the owners used to ask why not every pone kept birsd this way.:rotfl:

It was in fact the most beautiful and perfect setting for these little domestic birds, like a fairytale, but of course, who can afford a full time bird poop cleaner, and a replacement of the gorgeous silk upholstery every time they ''fire'' in the wrong direction!

I think you are right though....I can't understand the other extreme at all. Whyt have animals that you want to deny their very essence of being? was talking about this with horses with a client this weekend, and about dog dog, who my mother thinks should never be allowed off the lead again when healed. Its just not for me: I like that dogp-dog lives to run, that my horses like to scratch each other and that birds have wings :)

I use either a paint bruch or one of those eyemake up brushes (not spnges) that come with eyeshadow but I don't like for my face.
things seem to pollinate but whether it has to do with me I don't know!

Yeah, that's what I was saying...only a little less clearly as you. :) I'm also aware my animal welfare views are not always popular on MSE!:o
I was agreeing with you ;) Obviously not in enough of a brutally obvious way :D

Not sure what your animal welfare views are.

Depends what you are pollinating I suppose. If it's the wife, I would use one of those large wide painters brushes, if it's a chilli a soft tiny brush, if it's a courgette, rip the male flower off and shove it into the female a few times. lol

Actually the lives to run (not the dogp) was intentional.:o

I shall have to tell the pones to stop keeping birds though. Speaking of pones and birds, the geese and the horses get on amazingly well. Thats a huge bonus. :) They knock about together most of the day. :)
