My neighbours were trying to bring in their crop until about 1 am. They called this morning to profusively apologise..but I told them I'm not worried, they'll return the favour one day of patience over night time noise when we have a party :).....worse for them, they have no choice but to get up and milk! In fact, I slept soundly through it, and miraculously so did the dogs, though we could see lights and here the machinery...we were obviously all shattered!

kazchow, of course we remember you! Its good to here its going well. We're still in consultation planning phase. We have a few comments showing against our application on the planning website so ...gulp...see what happens in August.

The never ending rain continues here today and I am throughly sick and tired of it. I know I should pull on the waterproofs and go outside to continue the work needed in the garden but I just don't want to :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. Might do a dash to the greenhouse which has become a plants graveyard after the OH and I both thought the other had been watering it :o. It is at the very bottom of the garden so you have to go there on purpose hence the mistake!

Been planning the borders for next year and I am keen to plant some Aliums as they are such stunning plants. Decided not to worry about it just going to pick things that I really like and put them in some vague height order :D.

I just want a couple of sunny days!

    Hello everybody,

Have been missing in action as there have been too many things going on here...sadly, no money gone into pot as I damaged the car I use in Sardinia to the tune of €1200...all fixed now though and starting to repay pots which were depleted in process...managed to stay away from dream fund, but will be a while before any more goes in there.

Garden hasn't been great, lots of salad stuff, raspberries, loganberries, tomatoes coming now 1/2 a day which means we don't buy any, had a reasonable harvest of Florence fennel and bok choi, lots of baby peppers, mange tout are being eaten as 'garden salad' as we pick them so none for freezer, still waiting for French beans, no broad beans this year, few potatoes nearly ready for harvest, lots of celeriac, beetroot and onions. Was devastated that the birds got to my red currants before I realised they were ripe, not many black ones either, good crop of rhubarb and looking forward to apples next month so without much work we have done quite well...could do with a little more action but think that will just try to get beds ready for next year by covering them as they empty.

Kaz, I remember you! ;) If my digger driver did that, he wouldn't be getting any more free duck food or corn. Mind you, he demolished his own gates by accident a few months ago, so I suppose anything's possible!

i'd put up with a lot for a digger driver with a cheap day rate. My neighbours danaged a wall between us and its all good. It will get repaired a farmers' tomorrow! (spring I think they said).

ive been trying to do battle with BT for 5 months now. they upped my costs..broadband etc in FEB when i had to renew contract but i couldnt get anyone to renew it ??i e-mailed, i rang and to no avail...for a communications co. they are cr*p  my last e-mail listed all the other co's with thier price tariffs and the threat of complaining to the ombidsman if they did not pull thier finger out ! ....ive had 3 phone calls today, all apologising, offered a LOWER tariff and a rebate !! so thats sorted :D:D:D

im off to the pics tonight with a friend. she wants to see BRIDESMAIDS ?? said id go but with a history of falling asleep in cinemas during the opening credits she will probably have to tell me about it afterwards...:rotfl:

this weather is s**T isnt it.... makes me realise what CHOILLE and fellow "NORTH OF THE BORDER" people have had to endure for a lot longer.

i can hear pidgeon/dove coo's echoing down my chimney as im sat here so will have to go and inspect all my fireplaces to see if theres one fell down somewhere !!:o

Seems to have brightened up, well at least stopped thundering with rain. However I had a bit of a nap (4 hours :o) and now I need to frantically catch up with the house work before my OH comes home all grumpy.

Maybe I have time to pop some salad seeds in or I could wait and do some proper work tomorrow? Oh I guess I shall tidy first and if it is still light pop out and do a bit later.

Ruimmer, seems to me you needed the nap. I've had a few in the last fortnight. The weather doesn't promote outdoor activity. We have mud in the summerfield. We've been trialling a different method of strip grazing this summer./...primarily for the benefit of the fatties. Its proving brilliant (we have weightloss in all and we think the method is better for the oldies too). and poopicking is much quicker. BUT it does mean when there is less growth a bit more poaching. Its helping us determine where permanant fences might be put in eventually.

This morning was beautiful. Its greying over now again, but a load of washing outside feels a relief.

Dry here today but I have too much to do today to go out and enjoy it :(. The beasts have fleas again so I need to tidy the house and go through the spraying thing and treat them all. That on top of friends coming round.

Just picked a wee heap of raspberries to bake with, it is lovely eating produce you have just picked from your garden, it makes all the hard work so worthwhile :).
