davesnave, re grass....ours has gone (for silage). I definitely need to buy a small bale baler. Hay will probably go for upwards of £4 a bale this year and i wish i was selling it. :(
if your hay is £4 plus thats cheap !! It was up from £7 here last winter !!!!

I cn't get used to hay prices these days. If it gets really crazy this year I might sell our big bales via a farmer. I'd get a ruddy fortune for them, and we only used 17 last year! (less than 1/4 of what I thought we'd need.)

....Only if you can convince the powers that be that the New Forest is in Scotland, you're living in an extremely rural area... and then it's only a maybe based on income, or the colour of your kilt.....:D

I've already detailed my exploits yesterday elsewhere, but in a nutshell, we deserted this windy & wet place and sought solace among others at an Arts & Crafts Garden Festival on an estate near the Devon/Cornwall border. It was almost as wet & windy there, but at least we were able to see others getting soaked and blown about too.

Hurriedly Google-Earthing the venue before leaving, I managed to locate a walled garden and a lake, so when I got the opportunity, I slipped away from DW & friend and set off in search of the estate's hidden treasures. :) I failed on both counts, however, having aerially viewed the wrong blooming mansion. It was an easy mistake to make, as they are only three fields apart, but somewhat embarrassing in view of my previous post! :o

I don't think I'll be giving up the day job just yet! :rotfl:
