We get a fair bot of light pollution at night though. ;) My ideal would be t live in a small valley, owning the land around so that we ''owned'' our view and could ''control'' it. TBH often I feel a bit like a fly on a microscope here, aware that the villages above us look literally down onto us.
one year, unbeknown to me, my town had a powercut for hours one winter evening....i didnt know cos im not mains but i had a lot of comments next day ie "you were like a belisha beacon lit up in the dark" !! and "suppose you were sitting smug while we suffered"...hehehe

Well that's the three beams up - not quite in the right place but up there & the camera's flat - how annoying.

Hurray!:j Must feel good to have that moving-in date coming a little closer. I dread doing this place, but my adopted family is full of nutters who like building.

Too hot today, and far too windy as well, so couldn't go in the polytunnel, dig or do grass cutting until 4pm. As a result, ww were still out there at 10pm. :)

Tomorrow we are at a village 'do' with the plants. It's OK, but we have to share the venue with a football tournament! :(

Hope you do well Davesnave and sell loads of plants, and start getting a local customer base... for future years plant ( and eggs) sales..

Choille......:T glad the beams are up......I think we should all have a moving in party ..when you are in your house....a little tipple of what we fancy:p and a few nibbles too......

Looks as though its going to be another hot one here....

we need to buy another van for work, so going to have a look this morning, and see what type of deals he can do for us.

loads to do around the house and garden, just dont know where to start first:rotfl:

Edit...... Alfie can i pick your brains please......do you think my make-up bags are good enough to sell on folksy/etsy? Also the heart thing? I also do brooches with those little flowers.. which i sell for £2.50 ..

was just thinking about the idea, dont think i would sell many, if any as there are some super talented ( and not so talented ) people selling on there...

    Good Morning!

Well I have given myself a stern talking to and I am finally taking steps to get things sorted. OH and I sat down and had a good chat about what we want from the future and now we are putting things in place to get things moving. It is scary and exciting and I will be on here a lot more (computer permitting) to get advice and support.

It is so inspiring seeing the pictures you have all taken and hearing about your business and horticultural adventures :D

Adventures? Well, I suppose they are, in the sense that we don't know what to expect at new venues, and one never knows who the next customer might be. Sometimes, the most unlikely looking people turn out to have hidden attributes. ;)

We took about £165 today, which was good, considering it was only a small event. Picked up another booking too and had another yesterday by 'phone, so things are looking up. :)

Horrible wind again though. This site is sunny, but we pay for that. DW was much more snug in her gazebo under some very mature beech trees in the village, despite being 100' higher than me. :(

Oh I don't know, a pot or two of magnolia and a few packs of laminate flooring.....You'd hardly know the place!:rotfl:

Oh, hang on, I think they have the laminate already....
    :(

Still, no harm in looking CTC. Looking's free. :):)

I have seen worse places; that looks almost watertight. One I remember near Lampeter came with its own small valley of about 10 acres. It was about that price. We were first to view. All through the viewing we had the impression the agent was trying to put us off, saying things like " I think this will get listed as soon as a sale is mooted."

We looked at it; it had no architectural merit at all, and half an hour with a digger would have settled matters, but it was some fine site for a replacement house. Anyway, we hung around on the excuse of looking at the land. Sure enough, we'd not walked far when the agent's builder mate arrived in his Beemer....We left.:( We know when we're outclassed! :o

Wonder if that guy bought it, and maybe lost an arm and a leg on it;):D

I have found out it was on the market with Dawsons for 180k, dont know if it went to auction with them before? or what the history is on it?

Rummer to be honest... beggers cant be choosers, and if we are ever going to get anything in the future, its either going to be some land, or something like this house....unless of coarse we come inot some serious money from somewhere:rotfl:

Also by going to have a 'mooch' at these types of properties they stop me from getting carried away with my 'ideal' type of property dream....lol..

had some strawberries from the garden today....think i need to change the variety next year, as they are not as sweet as other ones i have had in the past...do you know of any good sweet flavoured strawberry varieties?
