THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!
I love them already!0 -

Now I might get some guineas too. I really like guinea eggs and guinea meat. Any one hatched these at home, and know what they are like to rear? As ''people''? I've only known adults!
GUINEA FOWL..... mad, lunatic birds that run away at the drop of a pin..... they take to the trees better than a buzzard, screech wierd tones and are generally nuts.....
BUT they are real characters, really good alarms at night and apart from damned ugly heads are really quite beautifull....
ive kept/bred them in the past and i like em !!:rotfl:0 -
im off gadding tonite... going to my friends for a "catch up" and fish and chips....:)
[i know how to live the high life....:rotfl:]
tomorow morning is CLEAR THE SIDE OF MY HOUSE garden time. i am going to just hack the whole lot down... im cleaning out the stable and all the chooks tomorow pm at my friends.:( going to red mite spray all [havnt seen any but just a precaution!]
RUBY my yearling is looking great after turning her out with the old boy barney in the big 10 acre field. her "black" is turning into what seems to be a very dark bay?? tinge of copper... maybe shes been hitting the John Freida color counter :rotfl:. im hoping its just a baby color as shes a stunning piebald...... trots around like lady of the manor... just got to try harder to catch the little madam !!:)0 -
Amongst the rubbish I retrieved, was a very snotty letter from a bank to one of my neighbours, but of course I couldn't possibly bring myself to read it.......;)
whilst you were NOT reading said snotty letter, i bet a very largedid NOT cross your face .......:rotfl:
Correct, not so much as a smirk. :A
I was also not at all surprised at the size of their overdraft, even if it made my own 'facility' look somewhat inferior. C'est la vie...que sera and all that....:p
But I've had a look at the fields this afternoon, and what we lack in financial clout is more than compensated for by the size of our grass crop.:) I just hope Pete can time things right, like he did last year.
Just in for a break from digging the last polytunnel foundation hole on one side, so we should have all the tubes in place there by the weekend. It's not so much digging, as just levering out the rock we've hit. The other side is easier and half-dug already, so there's a good chance we can set the frame up this month. If we didn't also have to dismantle a big greenhouse 100 miles away, I'd be even more confident. :cool:0 -

Oh, wow, what a great job you've made of it!
Just kinda scary how it looks quite a lot like ours did, except we couldn't afford a full height side extension when we did ours, nor could we put a whizzo porch on either, due to conservation area regs or something.
But that's great. There must be so much space inside. Well done!:):)

WOW maggie your house has got lovey kerb appeal.....
our house looks as though it belongs to the hillbillies, and just about ready to be demolished:eek::rotfl:
Didnt win the tender, but in reality we have so much work at the mo... we are swamped under...so it might have totally tipped us over the edge if we had won it....but its also all about planting the seeds :rotfl:for future business, by getting our name out there....so that was def achieved...:T
I feel a bit smug today:D as the developers who own all the land around us, has suspended their shares, as basically they have no money and owe millions....so basically they could be on their way to going through:D but i should imagine some shape or form the supermarket will go ahead...maybe i should point out to them my offer of buying a bit of land is still open:rotfl: well the money they get for it might buy them cardboard boxes for them to move out of thier offices:rotfl:
BUT... I also think i might have done a bit of damage to:D by pointing out something to one of their lenders....sorry dont want to say to much here...but i really do hope it isnt to little to late...
I know i shouldnt gloat, as in reality there will be a knock on effect with people within that company losing their jobs etc...but at the mo, i just cant seem to shift this grin off my face... ( prob all this gloating will bit me back in the bum one day)
Just goes to show ambition is good, greed isnt
Welcome to the newbies......
free fleabay listing this weekend, so i might get a few things listed... havent listed anything in yonks....Work to live= not live to work0 -
Maggie, it looks so good! what was the ''whoops'' about though?
Its weird leaving the chickens in. Makes my morning routine feel unfinished. I don't like it.0 -

Think it was going over a bump in the road. But the Image Stabilizer seems to have dealt with it.I love my camera.
Just wish there was a Maggie Stabilizer so I could walk without falling over or veering off to the left all the time!
Bit grey this morning, so prob not going up to the house this afternoon. OH only does a 3 day week now, so he's off tomorrow. I plan on getting him to plant the shallots while I pot on the rest of the lavender plants. Then there's the small matter of weeding...0 -
I couldn't do it keep those birds in till midday. They've been out pecking about for about an hour. No eggs though.
They all look in the very peak of health too!0 -
I used to have a hen or two like that. Hold onto it like a champion, then as soon as the door was open, run straight to an outside laying spot.
My ducks used to wait until I wasn't looking, till they went to a secret spot to lay. Not daft.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0
