Hey CTC, good to see you back. Congrats to those who are moving to their dreams!!! Soooo jealous here!
Well not much happening here. My strawberries all got eaten by a certain child from a few doors down who just wanders into my garden when we are not here. Not bothering to say anything as his mother will not believe it anyway lol. But next year am putting barbed wire round them lolol just let him try then!!!!!
Herbs are coming along so well, thinking that next year going to take some cuttings and sell the baby plants at a car boot sale. Even at £1 a plant I would make a killing up here!!!
Apart from that, trying to sort out a load of stuff to list on ebay. Hoping to make enough to cover christmas and have some left over for saving too!!!
Right off to sort out my kitchen ... looks like helmand province on a good day!!

Yippee!!! I can finally re-use those horrid bokashi bins i bought at the start of the year.
I did try to use them but the stench when they were due to go in the compost bin was making me sick!! So I went on freecycle today and there was this nice lady with a green cone on offer, unused and still in the packaging!! So I emailed and am going to pick it up tomorrow evening!!
Apparently this is one you bury in the ground and put all the cooked waste, much easier than the bokashi by the sounds of it and a lot less smelly!!!!!
My compost bin must be working as I have put enough stuff in it since it was bought to fill it but it's only about a third full!!! So I must be doing something right!! Just gotta get himself out there to cut it all down and i can use the bokashi bins to try and mulch down some of the garden waste before it goes in the compost bin.
Am feeling rather chipper today, kids are back at school here next tuesday and DD2 is going to be going all day!!!! Yippee for school!!! Unfortunately it means I will be on my own for a week at the end of the month so someone who is asleep right now is going to be very very busy up till then!!!
Speak to you all soon!! Di xxLBM - August 2008 - Debts then - £33390 - 2nd LBM - November 2009 - Debts then - £18500:mad:

Afternoon all. Well I am very pleased with myself today!! We had our tea last night and after the oven was switched off, in went a tray of freshly picked and washed sage leaves. And they dried a treat, so off into a freshly sterilised jar they went, and I am well chuffed with myself!!!
Big plans for next year for all my herbs to be treated in the same way. Will keep some for fresh usage but we had a glut of parsley this year and I could have dried it all and put it in jars for use over the winter!
But I now know better and will definitely be doing that next year. And here was I going to waste money buying a dehydrator!!!LBM - August 2008 - Debts then - £33390 - 2nd LBM - November 2009 - Debts then - £18500:mad:

should we? If we borrow £35,000 we can start to live the dream. We are in our late 40's .20 years £230 a month. Low waged though, but I dont do paid work."The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0

Dave, get some electric fencing. It's cheap as chips to run and will keep the deer off the enclosed area altho rabbits are another problem. Wire nooses I think
We have an electric fence, so no worries there, but we also have one of the local licenced deer shooters living next door to our land, so we now have some expert help!
Apparently, no big problem with rabbits either. Wonder why!!;)0 -
