LIR - Sounds like it's blocked (the inlet pipe). Can you open it & see if it's filling - the tank?

Maybe there is a glitch in the system & it's a reduced flow, it's not flushing through - ie because there is much less volume it is actually showing up - maybe you don't have a good fall. Maybe replace pipe - don't take out old pipe but run a pipe parrallel to old one?

I can't get to the tank without permission...so not till tomorrow...its not on my land. ''FALL'' thats the word I was stuggling for...the pipes are NOT deep, and they do not have a good "fall''.

I will call the drainage chap tomorrow to see if we can just get the new system in now I think. Money....who needs it? :o It might as well be done now as in 16 weeks....if it can be.

Alfie - curtains awill sell if you don't want them & they're good quality!

I used to put stuff in auctions that I'd hauled out of skips - what fun I had & it also saved it from landfill. I used to be in touch with a guy in America that made his living in going around his city before the bin men had been & he had a pick up - I could do that - I would love to do that.

LIR - That's probably the most sensible thing to do. Who enjoys spending money on things like that.

Peeing it away? Money down the pan? ;)

Honestly, I don't mind things going wrong..and they are only little things, but they just keep happening. While DH and I were out looking at pipes wth torches (and yes ...found what we think is a collapse) we came in and feral cat had pooped in the door way of the front hall. She'ss been otherwise clean for a while now so that's a shame.

choille.... i have to admit i have a "fetish" for curtains!!:o i have so many pairs that i could furnish a mansion!! i was given a beautiful huge pair from a des res apartment in london that were brand new but not required ?? lined and also insulated lined too so 3 thickness's !! its silly really as they are all in a cupboard... i did sell one set [3x 9ft long pairs with pelmets] from a big house for £100 as it would have been too wastefull to bury them in the cupboard..... i just seem to see/get lots FOR NOTHING so if you need any let me know :rotfl:
