Rhiwfield, sorry to hear about your wayward chicken. I know how worrying & bothersome it is when one decides to start behaving badly. We had a slight recurrence of the feather pecking during the snow, when they were all more confined, so out came the spray again. That sorted things, but it was fairly easy, as only one hen was being picked-on.

Lir, my sympathies with the back-up in the drain, but I bet it's only there and not in the tank itself. The recent freeze, though not blocking-up the system, may have damaged it at some point.

I'm up for a bonfire on the 15th, if the wind is west or south west. Glad to say that I have nothing like I had this time last year to burn though! :D

I've barely seen the place these last two days, as we've been up to the Outlaws and returning DD2 to uni. Luckily, Pete the farmer rang tonight to say he'd taken the ram to pastures new, or I'd have had a major panic tomorrow morning! :rotfl:

But our friend from debate ''Pastures New'' might well panic instead :eek:

And with good reason; he wasn't as "friendly" as Pete made him out to be! ;)

Mind you, I think that was Pete's little joke. He seemed quite surprised I'd been patting the ram, but then there was a foot of snow on the ground at the time, and I had the haylage!

Apparently, he gave Pete and son a good bit of exercise this afternoon!:rotfl:

I'm watching the Bear programme now. Aaww don't they look so beautiful. I can't decide if this guy is completely bonkers or extremely brave to go out filming them! I think I'm glad there are people like him out there who do this kind of thing though so that we can see these images from thesafety of our own armchairs (or office chairs if we're at our computers).

I had a mini melt down and when OH asked what was wrong I had to confess that I bought so many types of lettuce that I don't know where to put it all :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Suffice to say I now feel ridiculous and I am going to get a grip and think about things over the weekend.

Much as I love to watch these bears on the tv, I am starting to feel a little alarmed.

That little bear cub is growing up with humans and may in later life go towards humans in a friendly manor and maybe get killed for it. I also wonder how many people watching this will believe that they are able to become "bear whisperers"?

Oh bless that little cub though is so cute!

  • Poosmate, I think the old guy has been interacting with that family of bears for 40 odd years... as no way a wild bear would allow someone to change the tracker collar...Plus there would be no way that a camera crew could stay close and film the bears like that..

If you needed the tissues tonight, dont think you better watch tomorrow's programme..

what time are we all going to lite our fires? will try and make sure i re-charge the batteries for the camera.. so i can take a pic of the fire....

Urgh...first mornin for ages with out dh and chores took ages!

For the first time the horses had eaten almost alll their hay...and I hate filling haynets (hate using them too but one of the paying guest relieves herself on piles on the ground:(). On the plus side I spent so long clearning the barn of poop I don't believe they can have done much outside at all!

It was a mildish morning...but temperatures feel like they ar dropping again now. Its grey and damp and while there is a slight breeze it feels....close, not clean. You know those days? The opposite to a bracing winter day.
