    Well done Alfie!
that chicken has you sussed as a person who brings food I think, lol.

They are just so greedy, those Vorwerks. To see them come tumbling and swooping across the orchard when we go in the gate is a first class comedy experience.

Hi RAS - Funny with the van cosys - they need a pom pom on top.
We moved the bed away from th external wall last Winter as all the pillows went mouldy - yurk & probably not too healthy.

It's just the coldest bit of wall I suppose for all the condensation to form.

LIR - I wonder if it's because we haven't really had the new chickens free ranging that much & / or the feed. Pretty tasty stuff as home grown is compared to supermarket white bright ones.

    I haven't tasted a tastier egg than a Scot's Greys - do you think I'm prejudiced?

Nice hen Dave - lovely markings.

    Nice filly Alfie.

Not getting too much done with these short days - I go into mini hibernation, shut down almost.

    Davesnave, lovely hen!

Alfie, nice looking filly, have to admit I normally stay clear of horses being heavily allergic to horseflies :(

Perishing out there this morning!! Chicken water frozen, sharp frost everywhere but we're too far south west for snow atm, hope everyone is coping with the weather.

Those caravan fleeces look fun, but wonder how they keep their thermal values when wet. Guess there must be a plastic outer coating.

EDIT Just read the CAT site and see that its spray on foam!
  • Nice filly Alfie! (ooh that does sound a bit suggestive doesn't it?)
On the pantomime front, you're obviously just too altruistic for your own good!

Alfie, she's a sweetie, and you managed it just fine! We're open to a ride and drive joinging us, or one who does one and can be broken to the other.....doesn't matter which way round, but were not looking,....it will find us eventually, and till then we can't afford it.

Isn't it beautiful out there! everyone was waiting for breakfast this morning, and I spread grit for the first time....ok, I didn't really need to but it was a dry run. ;)

choille, what better to be biased about than your hens :)

Brr its cold. The oldest horse has had to have an under rug under her turnout rug (goodness knows what she'll layer up in next, I might have to go shopping for her :( ), but we still have one naked horse out there.

I spent sometime filling wild bird feeders today and found a ladybird living on a windowsill upstairs.

    Only one egg today!

It is so bitter here today, think I may need to treat myself to a balaclava!

One of my winter heroes is a weird fleece hat/scarf thing, that can be worn as a balaclava.

Essentially its two rectangular piece of fleece sewn together for about half the length. The dangley half I wear under my top then the rest is either folded as a roll neck, or going up over my nose and at the back over my head. Its hard to explain, but its invaluable to own!
