Wow Mambury you sure do have a lot on your plate just now!!

I went last night and got the grape hyacinth bulbs so they are currently in a pot in the back garden while OH takes DD2 and himself off to the dentist! I am still waiting to find out about this blooming job - should have heard last Thursday as they said 2 weeks but taking it as no news is good news!

If I get this job then OH will have no excuses for not sorting out the garden as he will be the househusband and will have the time to do it!!

Right am off to try and sort out the destruction that is my kitchen lol. Then into Bagdad aka my living room before I can get out and be useful in the garden! See you all later! xx

    Hi All,
We spent the Bank Holiday weekend building 2 patios. They look great and have got rid of all the slabs and paving stones that we've been holding onto. DH also built a couple of raised bed planters with some leftover decking we had. I'm really pleased with it all. It only cost £30 for the bags of peashingle. We made do with what we had for everything else.
I was going to go out and do a bit of gardening this afternoon. I've got a few bits to tidy up, but I forgot about a course I had to go on so hopefully the weather will stay nice for tomorrow.

Just a quick update from me. We did a village country market at the weekend and returned with just under £300 plus an almost empty van, so that was a decent start to our short season. We also picked up requests to do two more events, but I'm not sure if our stock will hold out!

The other bit of news is that after speaking with the planners, we find we're entitled to buy and retire to the Ag-tied property I saw last week. Of course we won't retire if we can help it, but it's nice to know that if our joints give out, we'll not be hounded-out of a place like that. It isn't a set-up that will make us a fortune, and DW hasn't even seen it yet, but it might work for us. So, another viewing is on the menu.

Meanwhile, another property, somewhat more up-together, but with less land, has just returned to the market after being 'under offer.' That one's not a million miles from you, Mambury. Might have a look at that as well.

PS. Mambury, I don't think it is that 'late' yet. A lot of plants play catch-up if sown/grown from this time of year.

Good morning all! Hubby went to a certain garden centre starting with B last night and came home with more compost for me and some pots and a couple of troughs, and more seeds!!! DD2's toms are sprouting despite her planting the seeds in a pot and leaving it outside! And DD1's flowers look like they are starting to sprout as well! So this weekend is a lot of trying to level out the back garden a bit and trying to get all the seeds planted in the hope that something will grow! The herbs should be okay and hoping that the rest will work (!?). And he thought he would cheer me up with a little pack of 3 cactuses (?sp) little mini ones so they are in residence on my bedroom windowsill as they like direct light and make the room look more homely for some reason.

Hope you are all well and your gardens are blooming! Will be on later xxx

    Afternoon all

It is seriously tipping it down here at the moment ....so gardening has been put on hold for a day or two . Luckily I have the tomatoes and cucmbers that are out protected with bubble wrap and fleece ;)but I am going to set extra cucumber seeds -just in case :p....
Hubby has just got back from the bar at work and handed over €50 :j-he won €100 on the bandit and gave me half (he always does this bless him) he doesn't go on them very often but always seems to do well when he does :D...so that is another €50 to add to the fund :jI have stashed it in the cash box for now but will get it put in the bank at the end of the month :A:rotfl:..

    Afternoon all!

Well its tipping it down here as well with lovely gale force winds coming in off the water! So no gardening for me today! Just been waiting to find out about these blooming jobs I went for. One said they would phone me back and just plain old didn't bother phoneing and the other one won't be sending letters out till at least next week, 2 weeks after we should have heard!

Apart from that my little cactuses look lovely, although I would like to put them in bigger pots as the pots are blooming tiny! Will just have to see if they have some nice ones in poundland when i go to town tomorrow! And will have to get some tomato feed as apparently thats what these little plants like to eat!

Well I've got the paperwork for my isa just need a paying in book now. I have a jar that I put loose change in and have £28 in that so far so as soon as my book arrives I shall be making my first payment into my daydream fund. Was looking at property on the internet today and saw a lovely house-well a few really-so I think my total aim is for about £300,000 but my first-much smaller target is £1000,00. My thinking is to make smaller targets so that they are more easily achieved and thus keeping me motivated (well it sounds good in theory!!! :) )
I also have to bear in mind that we have bills to pay off as well.
