Why is it all so stressful?!!

Thanks for the sympathy. We can't find another property that we can afford. Even if we could it would take a month to do the legal work and mortgage application by which time the FTBs would have moved on. One house did come on the market on Thursday but very over priced (EA took me to see it Wednesday, when it officially went on the market on Thursday the vendor had insisted the asking price be £40k higher!) Couldn't even afford Wednesday's price so that looks like a non-starter.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. it's not stressful for me as a buyer.. as there are no houses to get stressed over!!

I have everything agreed.. so am a cash buyer.. have been looking for a month and only about 2 new properties have come on the market since then (that fill my criteria). It's annoying!Lady Astor: "Winston, if I were your wife I'd put poison in your coffee."
Sir Winston Churchill: "Nancy, if I were your husband I'd drink it."0 -
lucky you!!You're not drunk if you can lie on the floor without holding on0

Will join the club.
Have agreed sale on our property, and buyers have completed all surveys/searches and so are looking to press on.
However, despite finding our 'dream' house, we are still waiting approval on the Mortgage Offer.......
its killing me - the survey has been done this week and all I want is someone to say, "here's your mortgage offer, get on with it".
My wife is 25 weeks pregnant, and so we could do with getting a shift on !WARNING!Alcohol can make you think you are more interesting and attractive than you actually are.....0 -
I think it becomes stressful when it's your dream house.
We've always bought houses needing lots of work - this seems to take the stress out a bit as although we can see the potential, we never "fall in love with them"!
We always take the mental attitude that it is all going to fall through - so are pleasantly suprised when it all goes ahead in the end!
If you have the option - look for buyers/sellers with short chains, as it's just one less thing to go wrong.
Good luck everyone!Rhiannon of Woolamai
Thanks!

I signed my contract last week but am not expecting to exchange until the end of March. My buyer's solicitors are still waiting for their search results and have said it's going to be at least another two weeks before they expect to be ready.
