Its sunny, but very blustery here, it keeps clouding over as if its going to rain and then clearing again.
Talking of frogs we have 2 at the allotment, the other day I pulled some weeds up from the path, one of the frogs appeared from under the wood cip on the path, gave me quite a start, sat sunning himself for a while before hopping off!!!

Morning all - goodness no it's the afternoon all ready
just back from the audiologist - not happy. I thought that this was the consultant's hearing test as we were referred in october but it was just the ordniary run of the mill one. dd(12)'s hearing is no worse than it was in october but she has a lot of glue and it looks like another infection is just around the corner. The audiologist is going to refer her to a paediatrician and i'm going to make an appointment with her gp and make sure everything has been sent off properly. I feel so sorry for her - her hearing's not bad enough to warrant an aid or any extra help at school but she struggles to keep up with normal conversation and has to sit in the front at school which singles her out
I cleared out the kitchen cupboards yesterday - well half done anyway. My name is stef and I'm a lentilaholic apparantly - there were six bags of lentils in there as well as loads of other pulses and grains - it's going to be a mostly meat-free week methinks.
Don't know if a boiler man is going to come or not - I am expecting one but one came round on saturday - i will amuse myself in the meantime by finishing off the cupboards and tackling the laundry mountain
tea will be lentil bolognaise
have a good dayI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -

Had an argument with the petrol station owner yesterday. Not a garage I use normally, but was running low. They advertised Diesel at 99 and so I started to fill the car. I noticed that the pump said 106.9. So I stopped pumping and questioned it. "Oh that pump is BP Ultimate" I argued the fact that the price was not displayed anywhere and as there was only 2 hoses, diesel and Unleaded, how was anyone to know? Crafty that. I left with £3.06p worth of fuel.......

.....an amazing weekend away at the COnvention in Holland. We got Silver medal, but only by a whisker...only 0.6% behind the winners! This meant we got on early in the show and had a ball on Saturday night! Loads of singing of course and great company. All travel worked out well. Couldn't ask for more (well, apart from a gold medal!!!).......
So will I see a piccie of your group in your local paper?0 -
Salopman - that sounds good.
Sunnygirl - that also sounds good.
May also try to infuse some balsamic vinegar.
There are only one or two branches to prune off. I don't use much rosemary in cooking (yet). They say that rosemary flourishes where the woman wears the trousers. Despite dear heart's jokes our rosemary bush has limped along for the last few years with only the occasional sprig taken when we have lamb, but finally seems like it is getting established. I think the soil is not good for it, but I love the smell of rosemary.
Also I need to prune the buddliea, and the branches will have to be taken to the tip after the recent fiasco - I daren't let them dry and burn them. I am putting that job off for another day as there is a rose bush growing through the buddliea (looks gorgeous in summer) which is pruned at the same time and is not a job to be undertaken in high winds. I want to try and train sweet peas through it as well.
Also - tomato seed, can I just bung it in a pot and it will grow? Have seed but no instructions, or is it safe to go on green fingered board, are they friendly there?

Hi guys,
Just enjoying my second cup of coffee after shooting in to Llandudno to sign my will and mooch around Asda for a while. I haven't wandered around there properly since we moved and I am gobsmacked at how many empty shops there are on the main street. I can't ever recall seeing it so quiet either.
I tackled Mt Everest again last night (I really should do it more than once a week) Today I have a couple of phone calls to make, the pennies to tot up and the house to clean through. I am going to stick a chicken in later on and we will have good old chicken, chips and peas for tea. (I'll stick the 'free' frozen chips in - hope they are OK though, never used them before.)
I have OK'd the proof for the stone for Eric and sent that off so it will be about 6 - 8 weeks and then that will be in place. I can't believe that after paying what I did for the plot the council now want another £100 to plant the stone(*************) Anyway it needs to be done.
Congratulations Purpleivy.
Weezl, congratulations, he is beautiful. xxx
Halight and Elona - I hope you both feel better soon.
Pen-pin, Msd, Gentle hugs to you both and gentle hugs to any one else in need today. xxx
Taplady, maybe I shouldn't mention the frogspawn that the kids are 'growing' in the back before it is returned to the mountain lake it came from. Not anything I've encouraged believe you me. I have my sis to thank for that one.
Have a nice rest of the day all.
Smoky. xxxxx
(and yes I am still:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:)

errrrrrm that's in the hands of our PRO, she has 'plans' but not sure what they are. Some of the group are 'WAGS' to the local (Bolton) mens' group, who also got silver in their category. They are our HABS (husbands and boyfriends!). I think there may well be something."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
