OS Daily Monday (again) 9th March

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Monday 9th March. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!

Morning all,

was just wondering where everyone was but then realised it was only 6.30am (although that's a lie-in for some people on here!)

Looks like a hint of blue sky outside, although definitely blustery & quite cool. Busy day at work placement today (well, they all are but some more so than others). Think I have 43 working days remaining but interspersed with uni days & a week off at Easter, I'm still there till mid-May. Trying to fill out a job application form (only 19 pages) to motivate myself to get to the end :)

Put some shelves up in oldest DD's room yesterday, she seems to be making vague attempts to tidy the pit that it is usually is, but give it 30 seconds & I'm sure it will be back to it's normal appalling mess.
Just hung some washing on the airer in the kitchen, trying to get into a routine of doing a load most days (if there is one) so it doesn't pile up. I'm used to taking for granted having a couple of weekdays to do stuff like that, so this full-time lark means I have to be even more organised, lol!!!!
Will be making sandwich for lunch today, must do some carrot soup later to take tomorrow. Dinner will be sausage casserole probably.

Tru & Taplady - kids!!!!!! Hope you both have easier weeks with yours....
Weezl, congratulations - he's gorgeous :)
Marie, hopefully you & Ulick with both enjoy Sardinia when you get there :)

((((hugs)))) to everyone else, having tough times or not. Have a good day all.

Morning. Cool and windy here, might see some sun, but mainly looks like showers and cold.
Day off today, so I shall clean up my office and then get some chickens fenced in so that I can start egg incubation again. They are laying everywhere, so that's no use.
Had the fish I caught on Saturday for tea Sunday and that was very delicious. So much fresher that fish shop fish (not that I ever buy it).
Found some frying steak reduced in coop last night, so will make some sort of beef dish for tea.
Had an argument with the petrol station owner yesterday. Not a garage I use normally, but was running low. They advertised Diesel at 99 and so I started to fill the car. I noticed that the pump said 106.9. So I stopped pumping and questioned it. "Oh that pump is BP Ultimate" I argued the fact that the price was not displayed anywhere and as there was only 2 hoses, diesel and Unleaded, how was anyone to know? Crafty that. I left with £3.06p worth of fuel.

Well, best get the packed lunches ready.

    Cheers

Morning squiggs and christabell, where is everybody  ,

Very hard to drag myself out of bed this morning, probably cos i am another year older  .

I am a little bit worried about my dd, who is constantly complaining of being tired, and had got big bags under her eyes, which were not there before, I am going to try and get her to the gp , so I am keeping her off of school, and she is going to have a lay in and a restfull day. Perhaps its just a teenage thing, but I need to get her checked.

Today we are having the roast pork which we never had yesterday, we had jacket spuds instead, and I need to have a good tidy and clean through, go a wash and make cakes, oh and do an internet shop, and take little dog out for a walk

    Marie, enjoy your holiday

    Have good days all xx

Happy birthday redruby!! Have a lovely day and extra cake.

Ahhh it's Monday again....why is it that when I'm in employment I cannot budge out of my bed until the very last second on a Monday morning yet here I am with no reason to get up bright eyed and bushy tailed already?

Today is the usual fare of looking for a job. I spotted a few possible openings in the weekend papers so just need to phone for application forms. My stupid printer isn't working at the minute - I dropped a paperclip down it - and therefore can't download and print off at home. It's really annoying. And of course I can't really afford a new printer right now - but maybe needs must and I'll just have to buy some cheap thing. I did look into getting my old one fixed but was informed that it wasn't worth my while because you can get similar new for about fifty quid. My fifty quids aren't exactly piled high at the minute.

I need to get myself down to the shops asap - my poor kitties had to share half a tin of KiteKat between them this morning. They are not amused.

    Have a great day.

    Happy Birthday Redruby.
WM is on, sun is shining so hopefully will be able to get it outside to dry. Very cold and wet here yesterday and as out Sat had lots of washing to do. It is over driers and hanging from door frames. Still have a least another 3 loads to do before I begin to catch up. Calmly told DS I will teach him how to use the WM as he is incapable of putting his washing in the bathroom. I refuse to collect it from his room and when I ask he gets very grumpy stomps off and forgets or only finds one or 2 items. If I remind him I'm nagging. So I told him as he doesn't like me asking I won't, but then he will have to do his stuff himself. Suddenly the bathroom was full.

    Morning all.

I am back at work and significantly happier now I'm out the house.

They are driving me crazy still. I solved the vase problem diplomatically though. I think OH must have had a word with his about why I was annoyed that they talked all the way through his graduation ceremony. It wasn't even quiet and they didn't have the excuse that they didn't understand what was going on as really nobody does. It shows a complete lack of respect and really upset people in the near vicinity of us (there are no microphones, so you really have to listen hard to hear anything). That coupled with a bunch of other stuff (probably best not to get me ranting - I don't care what other people do at the dinner table - but I will not forgo my manners and join in and I expect that wish to be respected)

My parents came up yesterday and it went better than expected.

Pasta for tea tonight. Yesterday I made bread rolls in the shape of hedgehogs and dehydrated anything fruit based I could find in my new toy :)

Have a good day all, cel x

Morning all...............((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))00 if you need one.

I can tell spring is here I am waking earlier in the mornings now it is getting light so much earlier.

There is a bit of bue sky I can see from the window, but we will not be going far today. Have NTL coming to collect the box from the bedroom and the SHO to do our termination here......they want to get their sticky hands on the keys as soon as possible, but in our case they will just have to wait a bit.......

Spent quite a while yesterday sorting out what we have to get to move into the new place and prioritising the list, what we have to have and what can wait..............

I need to do a couple of loads of washing this week, will start it tomorrow, Monday is always busy in the laundry, mine can wait..........

Cleaning up morning as well, place is not too bad, windows can wait. When we move out the place will be decorated, they just slop paint on any which wat, so not point in knocking myself out to leave it clean!!!

My second cup of coffee calls, will drop back in later..............
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

Hello everyone! Back in the land of the living (well almost) after an amazing weekend away at the COnvention in Holland. We got Silver medal, but only by a whisker...only 0.6% behind the winners! This meant we got on early in the show and had a ball on Saturday night! Loads of singing of course and great company. All travel worked out well. Couldn't ask for more (well, apart from a gold medal!!!)

Lots of good old fashioned clearing up and housework are require here, talk about bringing a girl down to earth! Tea tonight will be freezer diving I think, still got lots of choice, don't want to buy anything further, also need to review grocery budget for the month, suspect I'm doing quite well.

Mega list of jobs to do today, too numerous to list, so must try not to spend too much time here! Sewing club tonight and I need help with a project, so hope that I can stay awake for long enough...didn't get that much sleep at the weekend as you can imagine.

Missed lots of news...I hear from a post earlier in this thread that Weezl now has a baby.

Hope you all have a good day.

  • Good morning everyone.

This will be a quick post from me as I have caught myself some kind of bug.

After church yesterday I managed to spend a few hours in the garden and I am really pleased with how well it's looking. Tea was roast beef with all the trimmings. I doubt there will be much OS here today but I will still manage a load of washing, some bed making and something for tea. Then I may go back to bed. icon9.gif

    ISOM. Fergus is lovely.
Ruby. I hope youe DD is ok
Tru. You must have been so worried about your son. Glad all is well. I would be cross too but I would draw the line at flushing my own son's head down the toilet Csarina.
Celyn. I am glad you are surviving.
Aussielass. That's alot of sweet potatoes!!!!

    Bye for now. xxx
