By the way, if your buying with the intention to sell on (and make a profit) your supposed to declare this and pay tax...!

What a find - I popped into a CS today and picked up some reebok trackie bottoms for DS2 for 75p, VGC just for everyday can't keep up with the constant grass stains from footie, my Mam did get a Burberry mac in the local hospice shop - for...........£1 there are some fab bargains out there - if I had the time I'd love to help out in one but I'd spend all my time rummaging and take it all home with me:rolleyes:0 -
I got a per una gorgeous jacket for my mum today £4 in animal charity shop. It was hung up on the wall good job as i never look in coats and jackets in the summer.
I think the shop is having the mary porteus effect! Its looking spucer they are arranging stuff better and i recognise a new face in the staff. The prices are staying the same luckily for me.0 -
I just found this thread ... searching for something else...
How can I find where there are decent car boot sales in london? (I would love some bargains... for myself, not ebay). i visit a few charity shops but they have big prices (sometimes still something nice for £4-5 ... but sometimes they are really expensive)0 -
Hi Mess
try carboot junction on line.
Also keep an eye on your local press - ie east london advertiser/ south london press. they sometimes advertise them.
Over the last few weeks we went to the one at Wimbledon stadium ( not a lot and loads of traders, didnt think it was that good tbh) Battersea colllege - pretty good haul from there, and over the weekend went to one out in Hertds ( north of barnet)
Theres a time out page to london car boot sales online, i think they are all still quite current. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I am taking one of my charity shop buys to an auction house to hopefully sell and I wonder if anyone could give me some advice about how to present it.Its a little limited edition artwork and is currently just in the horrible little fake inlay frame it was bought in,not mounted or anything.Do you think I should mount it and put it in a better frame.I am not talking about spending much money, probably buy an plain wood ikea frame for £3ish and mount it myself.Do you think I should change the frame to sell it or assume that whoever buys it will change the frame anyway.I think it will look more impressive in a new frame. What do you think?"Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0

it looks like Im going to have Saturday free so I think I might check out some other London car boot sales. I might try Wimbledon, but I heard they don’t have many clothing stalls there or kilburn which has a better start time of 11am0

I would leave it exactly how it is - most auction buyers like things as they come so they can do as they will with it
Let us know if you get a good price for it. Has it been valued by the auction house already? Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550
