By the way, if your buying with the intention to sell on (and make a profit) your supposed to declare this and pay tax...!

excuse my ebay ignorance but how does one find the completed items listings on ebay.
    thanks

On the Advanced Search option, you can tick boxes for various searches, one is completed listings.

We're doing a car boot (selling) tomorrow, weather permitting, and I've got tons of Next, River Island, Monsoon, stuff, some of which is brand new, never worn with tags.

What do you reckon pricing wise, we're not greedy, just want rid, I have nil interest in clothes.......would a quid each be too much?

Eldest DD will be with me and she IS interested in clothes and seems to find the bargains, I think I'll leave her in charge of the clothes bit.:D

Having a major declutter, doesn't seem to have made a huge dent in the [STRIKE]state of the[/STRIKE] house but its a start.;)

I'd snap them up for £1 each! That's usually what I pay for clothes but willing to go up to £2 for something special

Can you let us know how you get on please? I really don't think many people near me buy to ebay and there were loads of Monsoon gear and lots of other designer names I can't remember but not in my size or too expensive (I only pay about £1 an item for myself - max!). However, if they sell on ebay for such crazy prices, I'm starting to think I'd be daft not to take advantage of it. How do you wrap things? How do you know how much it costs to post? Is it not loads of hassle for very little return (that's what I thought - I'm beginning to beleive it's not). TIA!

For example, I bought a Red Herring suede jacket in excellent condition yesterday - £2.50. I was thinking I could get a few wears out of it then stick it in the charity box - is it worth ebaying it?

I had two ebays ending today one for a Monsoon dress paid 50p for that went for £19.00 + Postage at £2.50. The other was a Coast dress paid 50p for and that went for £13.00 + Postage at £2.50. So a nice profit on those, I guess its just luck as I also sold a pair of Next Jeans which cost me £2 for £2.70 + £3.50 Postage.

I just guess at the postage, see what other sellers are charging and put the same.

But I buy them for me then find they don't fit! Can't understand how I can't get my size 18/20 bottom into it!!
  • Went to the big one in devon today and did get some bargains but really missing the usual surrey car boot because sellers here want stupid prices (mostly) and will not haggle... whats the point?!

    anyway I got:

2 x thomas the tank books for nephew @ 70p
1 x Animal wallet brand new (for me!!) @£2.50
    1 x large piece of Hawaiian fabric @ £1
    1 x bag of fabric bits @ £1
1 x whistles kaftan style top for ebay @ £1
1 x french connection top (maybe for ebay) @ £1
4 x indian style cushion covers in need of repair but lovely colours all @ £1

looking forward to returning to surrey though, missing the jumbo boot sale there...

Yes, mine! But at least he gets to lie in on a Sunday morning while DD and I go out and get the bargins! He usually complains about the amount of stuff I bring back but now he has seen what I can sell it for on ebay hes not so bothered now! I also get a lot of toys and books for DD and when she is fed up of them I put them in the CB box to take back and sell!

I was hoping the good weather would bring on some bargains, but I didn’t get much. there wasnt many buyers there either, so we thought it would give us more of a chance to rummage round and grab good bits, but no luck.

1 seller was selling loads of topshop clothes, her stand was crazy busy and people snatching everything in sight, I managed to get a cute topshop flower print skirt, topshop knitted stripey dress, religion slouchy top and vintage turquiose shoes with a silver lightening bolt on it, all for £13.
My brother got a hello kitty teddy £1 for my niece but he didnt see anything for himself.

I guess theres always next week :-)

    I went to 2 boot sales yesterday ,they were both packed with sellers but most were selling rubish :confused:. A few weeks ago i was filling my car with bargains, now i'm only filling a bag. Anyway i picked up;

A river island white summer dress size 8 (to put on e-bay)

3 pairs of girls Lelli Kelly shoes (as new condition), i gave 1 pair to my step daughter and the best two pairs are on e-bay. 50p a pair :T

A bag of Next girls clothes age 7-10 years (around 15 items) for 6.00

A sponge bob bean bag chair (new) 5.00 for my daughter who is sponge bob mad.

Some Next t-shirts and dresses for my daughters 50p each.

Lets hope i find some bargains next week.

This is such an interesting thread! I thought I'd jump in with my best recent bargains.

    as new Mousetrap game £1
as new and with all the bits Super Badge It £1 (daughter has wanted both for ages)
both from a small local boot sale

a pair of huge flared DP jeans, long enough for me which is extremely rare £1.99 from a 'proper' charity shop

4 books from a village carnival 5p each, they had loads including read once recent hardbacks

a Beatles single from 1965 in the original sleeve, immaculate, reduced to 50p, from a charity shop that charges at least £1.50 per single no matter what it is. It is worth quite a lot but there's no way I'm selling it!
