:eek:WOW:eek: what books were they?
We have loads and loads of books in ur house (old ones) as my mum, aunt and I are huge readers and have literally cupboards and rooms full!!!:o:o
We had an old fashioned 'ready reckoner' at home which my dad always told me was super valuable but I'm afraid I was a bit of a vandal when I was young and idioticso it's now no longer with us:mad:
remember these are the ones that did particularly well. others sold for only £2-3. the £67 was a first ed collectable nature book, and the other two were an 1980s book related to a kids tv series/toys and a first ed book on a pet species (not being specific as i don't want people to look at what i sell on ebay from here).
i love it but it has taken years to hone my ebay antenna! i still get some duds, but then you have to take the rough with the smooth. i have had other similar great results on all sorts of random items. likewise i might have missed a good buy as i don't like to risk too much money on a punt. and, yes i do pay tax on all the items i buy to sell;).0 -
Over the last couple of weeks I've been starting the winter preparations in local charity shops - the weather has been dreadful so most car-boots have been a washout...
2 cashmere cardis and one jumper (Florence & Fred and M&S Limited Edition) - at about £3.50 each, all as new.. M&S Italian Collection wool & silk jumper for the OH £2, and yesterday a Swedish Lamb coat for £1. Not the 70s grey or beige colours, (OK for warmth but a bit depressing!) but cream with an apricot silk lining and genuine 1960s! The lining needs a couple of stitches but is otherwise perfect.0 -
I sold some of my finds at auction yesterday and although I made some money on them I was very dissapointed with the prices they fetched, would have got about double on ebay for them.I just didnt fancy packaging up the stuff and posting it incase it got smashed.
One of my beswick bulls only sold for £50 when the cheapest selling price for it one ebay is £80.I will stick to ebay in future.
My mum went to the auction to see what the lots went for and apparantly I was actually very lucky to get what I did for the stuff as lots were going for £3-5,shocking!Some poor woman got just £8(minus a minimum auction house fee of £5) for her whole tray of carlton ware, about 15 items, thats 20p an item she would get for them. There were lots of very happy buyers on the day.
Might be a good place to buy rather than sell?
Mum said its worth going just for the banter."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -

and my favourite bargain was the happy land Village vets for 20p - i'm awaiting an ebay purchase of the figures but they didn't have the building, so complete now!
oh also bought a vintage (1980) Fisher Price airplane, I used to play with one when i was little, though looking I may get a good return on ebay.
