Did my first ever car boot today - a roaring success! I did it with a friend and we had loads of stuff, I agree with the previous poster who said cram as much as you can in the car! Unfortunately we just could not get the massive old TV in there... not even on my lap in the passenger seat! I came back with a few boxes too so will be making another trip in a few weeks.

I made £70 and my friend made about the same, so it was a great success for us. I couldn't bear to go round the other stalls though... too busy, too hectic, too big and too early! Maybe when I'm a seasoned carbooter... :)

Out the front of my local Sali Army, they have a 'Free' box. where they put things they think they cant sell.

I picked up a Prima CandyFloss Maker from this box, Was boxed, with all of the party pack included.

    Sells for between £20 & £40 on Ebay :j:j

Kids however like it too much for me to concider selling it, Gotta admit, it is great fun

Local dog & cat charity - got a brand new black Radley purse for £1.30. I couldn't believe it and thought it must be a fake, but it's not. Had thought of putting it on eBay but it's too nice to sell.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

    Hermes scarf 50p.:D

I got one a few weeks ago but it was a fake, a really really good fake though. There is a wonderful review/guide on ebay about how to spot the difference - here it is http://reviews.ebay.co.uk/Hermes-Fake-Scarves-Index_W0QQugidZ10000000007581209

I forgot to mention earlier - my mum also bought a bottle of Gucci by Gucci for £15 - RRP £56, its almost full and smells lovely. I shall be borrowing a few sprays of that as she keeps nicking my Chanel:rolleyes:

Thanks, I'd had a look earlier and figured out that it was a fake, no probs, still a silk scarf for 50p, it's got people playing golf on it so it may be of interest to golfing types if I ever plonk it on ebay. But thanks for the link, very interesting. I bought a fake kipling bag once and was most upset, it was supposed to be genuine.

Usually do 2 car boots a year to clear clutter (also have the in-laws giving us stuff to flog). We are moving house in a few months so yesterday it was a get rid or bin sale. After the initial rush of people between 8 and 8.30 all our larger items had gone. So went into bargain mode and had a 10p item basket, everything on the table 30p. Books 25p, CD's 25p, DVD's 30p and a few videos for 10p.
Our car was rammed full but we came back with 2 boxes. Made a nice amount of money to go towards some new items for the new house.

Pop to Essington next April for the next round of my bargain boot sale :j
